To open the Fallen Emperor on Pendola Pass, you need an Emperor Gateway Conduit. The repeatable route is to find an active Damaged Emperor Relay during the Redirection map condition, call and loot an Emperor Payload for its blueprint and three ARC Couplers, then extract and craft the conduit at Workbench I. Take it to the gateway and use the unlock prompt; the conduit is reported to be consumed when used.
Get the conduit blueprint from an Emperor Payload
- Queue for Pendola Pass during Redirection. Damaged Emperor Relays reportedly activate during this map condition. There are ten fixed relay locations, with two active at a time; active locations are shown on the map, and red beams can help you spot them. Availability may change with patches. Source: Dot Esports
- Interact with an active Damaged Emperor Relay. Loot the Emperor Beacon it provides. Some guides use “antenna” for the relay reward; follow the item name shown in your game. Source: Dot Esports Source: The Gamer
- Deploy the beacon in open ground and move away. It calls down an Emperor Payload. Wait until the falling debris has settled before approaching, then loot the payload. It can contain the conduit blueprint and ARC Couplers. Source: Dot Esports
- Extract with the blueprint and any couplers you find. The blueprint must be learned after returning to Speranza before you can craft the conduit. Source: The Gamer
The blueprint is described as a random or rare payload drop. The available guides do not establish a drop rate or a number of payloads that guarantees it, so plan for repeat farming rather than a guaranteed single run.

Guides attribute all three couplers to Emperor Payloads. A reported one-time alternative for the Conductive Coupler is Celeste’s “Sizing Things Up” quest, which can reward one from a buried payload; this helps only if the quest is available and unfinished. Source: The Gamer

Use the conduit at the Fallen Emperor
Bring the crafted conduit to the Fallen Emperor entrance on Pendola Pass and interact with the gateway. Guides report an unlock prompt reading “Unlock (1/1 Emperor Gateway Conduit).” Use the current prompt in your game if its wording differs. A level 60 Frozen Trail Reward Pass reward is reported to provide one ready-made Emperor Gateway Conduit. This is a reported one-time way to enter without first learning the blueprint, not a repeatable crafting method.
