To open a Gemini place result in Google Maps, select the place in Gemini and choose Open in Maps on its details page. On a computer, click the linked place name in Gemini’s response. To share a single location or route, use Google Maps’ own sharing controls; sharing a public Gemini chat link shares the conversation, not just the place.
Open one Gemini place in Google Maps
On an iPhone or iPad
- In Gemini, tap the linked place name or preview card. If you are viewing the full-screen map, tap the place’s pin instead.
- On the place details page, tap Open in Maps.
On a computer
- Click the linked place name in Gemini’s response.
- The place opens in its Google Maps details page.

Move several pinned places into Google Maps
If Gemini’s response contains an interactive map with multiple places, open the map from the response. Tap Export to Google Maps to save its pinned places together in a custom Google Maps list. This is the route for carrying over a set of pins, rather than opening or sharing just one place.
Share a place or directions link
- Open the location in Google Maps, or select the route you want to share.
- Use Google Maps’ share controls to copy a link for email or text, share through a social app, or embed a map where that option is available.
Google’s instructions for sending directions to a device require the same Google Account to be signed in on the computer and mobile device. For a recipient, share the Maps location or directions link rather than a Gemini chat link when you intend to share only the place or route.

What a Gemini public link shares
A public link to a Gemini chat exposes the entire conversation to anyone who has the link, and they can reshare it. It is not a single-place sharing control. Open the result in Google Maps and use Maps’ sharing controls to share a location or directions instead.
Check Gemini Maps availability
Google says the Gemini Maps feature requires signing in to Gemini Apps and keeping Activity on. It is unavailable in Live chats and Gemini in Google Messages. Google describes the additional place-details and interactive-map features as gradually rolling out. Its documented eligibility is for people 18 or older using a personal Google Account and asking about a place in English.

Google also says this Gemini connection cannot provide live traffic updates, add a place review, save location history, or use saved places other than Home or Work. If you do not see the place details or interactive-map controls, the feature may not be available for your mode or account.
