Mute emotes in Clash Royale
The mute control is part of the battle interface. Use this sequence while a match is in progress:

- Start or join a battle. The control is available from the in-battle communication interface, not from the phone’s general settings.
- Tap the Emote icon. This opens the communication menu used for emotes and other battle messages.
- Tap the Mute icon. Emote communication is muted for the battle. The official Supercell Support procedure is simply “Tap the Emote icon” followed by “Tap the Mute icon.”
You can keep playing immediately after tapping the control. There is no separate confirmation screen or accessory required.
Where to find the Emote and Mute controls
In the battle screen, look for the button that opens emote communication. Current descriptions commonly identify it as a speech-bubble-style communication menu. Once it is open, look for the mute symbol or the label associated with muting.

The artwork and exact placement can change when Clash Royale is updated. Follow the icon and label shown in your current battle interface rather than relying on a particular shape or screen position from an older screenshot.
The Emote menu can also expose more emotes through a white arrow. That arrow is for browsing additional emotes; it is separate from the mute control. If you see the arrow but not the mute option, make sure you are looking at the menu’s communication controls rather than only the emote selection panel.

What muting does—and what it does not require
Supercell describes emotes as communication that players can use with friends or opponents during Battles. The mute command is an in-battle emote control, so it is designed for the current match interface rather than for managing your entire account or phone.
- You do not need to exit the battle.
- You do not need to open the Collection area.
- You do not need to edit your Emote Deck.
- You do not need a controller, keyboard, headset, app, or other physical product.
- You do not need to change notification, media-volume, or system-wide phone settings.
The Emote Deck is managed separately from the Collection area. Editing that deck changes which emotes you can select; it is not the documented route for muting battle communication.

How to unmute emotes
Unmuting uses the same in-battle control:
- Tap the Emote or communication icon during the battle.
- Tap the mute control again.
A current walkthrough from Dot Esports describes the control as a mute/unmute toggle: tapping it again reactivates emotes. The icon may change appearance after you tap it, so use the state shown in the menu as your guide.

Does the mute setting carry into your next battle?
Supercell’s support instructions explain how to mute emotes during a battle but do not state whether that choice is automatically preserved for future matches. Do not assume that a mute made in one battle will always remain active, or that it will always reset. If emotes matter to you at the start of a later match, open the Emote menu and check the control in that battle’s interface.

This distinction matters because the documented action is temporary in placement: it is performed from the battle screen. The available behavior can also change with a future game update, so the current label or icon in your installed version takes priority over older instructions.

Troubleshooting the mute button
The mute option is not visible
First confirm that you are in an active battle and have opened the Emote or communication menu. The mute command is not documented as a general setting in the home screen or Collection area. If the menu shows an arrow for more emotes, inspect the rest of the communication controls for the mute symbol.

The icon looks different from a guide or screenshot
Icon artwork and placement may change with game updates. Use the current in-game label and the control’s location in your installed version. The reliable sequence remains the same: open the Emote menu, then select Mute.
You tapped mute but want emotes back
Open the same Emote menu and tap the control again. The mute/unmute control is intended to toggle the state, so a second tap reactivates emotes according to the current interface.
You are trying to solve the problem with phone audio controls
Phone volume, silent mode, a headset, or a controller is not the documented method for muting Clash Royale emotes. Use the in-battle Emote menu instead. Those physical or system-level changes are unnecessary for this task.
