You can move Samsung Notes content to Google Keep or Microsoft OneNote by exporting notes and handling them individually, but neither destination has a documented, dependable one-click Samsung Notes migration route. Samsung says its Samsung Notes-to-OneNote sync feature is no longer available. Google Keep’s help does not document importing Samsung Notes; a Google Docs Editors Community Product Expert recommends exporting text and recreating notes manually. Back up your originals and check exported files before deleting anything.

Samsung’s current notice takes precedence over an older Samsung support article that still shows the former OneNote sync setting. If you still see that menu, availability may depend on your Samsung Notes version, device, or region; the older instructions should not be treated as a current migration method.

Before moving notes, make a backup
Keep the originals in Samsung Notes until you have checked the exported copies and confirmed that the destination contains what you need. Samsung says notes can be synced with a Samsung account through Samsung Cloud and can also be saved or shared in several file formats. Menu wording and availability may vary by device, region, app build, and account.
- Keep a Samsung Cloud-synced copy or another backup before reorganizing or deleting source notes.
- Try a representative selection: a typed note, checklist, handwritten note, note with images or attachments, and any note containing audio.
- Open the exported files and check that their content is legible and complete before relying on them as your only copy.
- If a note’s appearance matters, retain a PDF or image reference rather than assuming a text export will preserve it.
Samsung specifically says that PDF overlay translations created with Galaxy AI do not support synchronization, sharing, saving, or backup/restore. Review Samsung’s current limitations for these notes; do not assume the translated overlay will travel with an export.

Move Samsung Notes to Google Keep
Export a note as text
- Open the note in Samsung Notes.
- Open More options and choose Save as file, or use the note’s Share option. Menu labels can differ by Samsung Notes version.
- Choose a text file format if available, and save or share the exported note where you can access its text.
- In Google Keep, create a note and paste or re-enter the exported text. Check the result, including any lists or special characters, before moving on to the next note.
Samsung documents saving or sharing notes as text, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, PDF, and image files. Google Keep Help does not describe a direct Samsung Notes import. A Google Docs Editors Community Product Expert suggests manually recreating notes from exported text, so treat that as a community workaround rather than a Google-supported conversion guarantee.
Keep visual notes as references
If handwriting, layout, or embedded content is important, retain a PDF or image export as a reference copy. The available sources do not establish that these files can be imported as editable Google Keep notes. Do not treat an export as a successful migration until you have opened it and confirmed that it preserves what matters to you.

Move Samsung Notes to Microsoft OneNote
Use exported files, not the retired sync feature
Samsung Support’s current US app-support hub states: “The feature for syncing Samsung Notes with Microsoft OneNote is no longer available.” An older Samsung support article still describes the former sync setting, but that legacy setup is not a reliable current route.
- Open a Samsung Notes note and choose More options > Save as file, or use Share.
- Choose a format suited to the note: Word or text for content you may want to reuse, or PDF or image when keeping a visual reference is more important.
- Save or share the file, then add or open it within the OneNote workflow you use.
- Inspect the result in OneNote. Confirm whether it is editable in the way you need and whether its layout, handwriting, images, and other content remain usable.
Samsung documents note-level save and share options, not a verified bulk migration into OneNote or a guarantee that every export becomes a native OneNote page. The result depends on the chosen file format and the note’s contents.

Do not confuse Samsung Notes migration with OneNote notebook import
Microsoft’s guidance that OneNote notebook import functionality is deprecated concerns OneNote notebooks, not a Samsung Notes importer. Microsoft documents exporting personal OneDrive notebooks through OneNote for the web; the downloaded notebook format is supported in OneNote for Windows, not iOS. These notebook export and compatibility rules do not provide a way to import Samsung Notes.
What can carry over, and what needs checking?
Samsung lists the available export formats, but the reviewed sources do not establish a universal fidelity guarantee for either destination. Choose the format based on what you need to preserve, then inspect the output instead of assuming that conversion retains every element.

- Plain text: useful for reusing written content, but do not expect it to retain a note’s original visual layout, handwriting, embedded objects, or folder structure.
- Word or PowerPoint: documented Samsung export options that may serve as intermediate files; check the exported file and its destination behavior.
- PDF or image: useful as a visual reference when appearance matters. The sources do not establish that these formats turn into editable native Keep or OneNote notes.
- Attachments, handwriting, and audio: test notes containing these elements individually. The cited guidance does not promise that every element will transfer intact or remain editable.
- Folders and organization: plan to recreate any structure needed in the destination; the documented note-level export steps do not establish folder migration.
Plan for a manual move if you have many notes
Samsung’s documented instructions describe saving or sharing notes one at a time, not a verified bulk migration into Keep or OneNote. For a large collection, decide which notes need editable text, which can remain as reference files, and which are no longer needed. Recreate and organize the destination notes, then check them against the originals before removing anything from Samsung Notes.
