Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesIn Riverside Studio, participant controls depend on your role: hosts have broad session control, producers can change most settings subject to their permissions, and guests manage their own setup. To remove someone, hosts and producers use the People panel; participant muting and camera-off controls are documented for computer, while removal is documented for both computer and mobile.
How participant settings are organized
“Talk Studio” is the wording in this article’s title; the cited instructions describe Riverside’s product, which its Help Center calls Studio. Settings are grouped under General, Recording, Live Stream, Brand, and Advanced. General settings include options such as renaming a Studio, enabling a lobby or waiting room, scheduling a recording, and inviting participants. There is not one settings screen containing every participant control, so use the relevant control in the Studio interface. Riverside’s Studio settings overview describes the categories.

Who can change participant settings?
| Role | What the role can do |
|---|---|
| Host | Manages the session and can change all Studio settings, including managing participants. |
| Producer | Supports the host and can change most Studio settings. Available permissions vary by producer type and feature. |
| Guest | Participates in the recording and manages their own setup, such as their display name and camera, microphone, and speaker selection. |
| Audience member | Watches a live session, can use chat, and may request to join the live recording. |
These distinctions matter: guest self-service controls are not settings a host changes on the guest’s behalf, and audience members are not ordinary live-call participants. See Riverside’s participant roles overview and guest role details.

A host or producer can remove a person who is in the live call. The interface differs between computer and the mobile app.

On a computer
- Join the Studio as a host or producer.
- Open People in the sidebar.
- Click the three-dot menu beside the participant’s name.
- Select Remove participant, then confirm.
In the mobile app
- Open the three-dot menu.
- Tap People panel.
- Tap the remove icon beside the participant’s name, then confirm.
What removal does
Removing someone stops their recording, and their high-quality recording track finishes uploading. If the removal was accidental or premature, the participant can rejoin using Rejoin Studio. A removed live-call participant returns to the audience and can continue watching; ordinary audience members are not removed through this participant-removal action. Follow Riverside’s removal instructions for the documented workflow.
Mute a participant or turn off their camera
The host-role documentation lists muting or unmuting a participant’s microphone and turning off a participant’s camera as host actions on computer. It does not list these two actions for mobile, so do not assume the same controls are available in the mobile app. The documented platform listing is in Riverside’s host role details.

Adjust what you hear and check upload status
Riverside’s sidebar documentation describes participant-management tools for hosts and producers, including adjusting another participant’s output volume and checking whether participant tracks are uploading. Output volume affects what you hear live; it is not documented as changing the participant’s recorded track. The sidebar overview uses older documentation, so the exact label or location may differ in the current interface: Studio sidebar overview.

Guest controls for their own setup
Guests can change their display name and select their own camera, microphone, and speaker. Riverside also documents guest controls for live captions and video mirroring. These are self-service participation settings, distinct from host actions such as muting another person or removing them. See the guest role details.

StreamNeo is a separate service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos; it does not manage Riverside Studio participants or go live from a camera. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. StreamNeo loops the video from the cloud, so no computer or home connection has to stay on. It supports uploads as made up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly service is $9.99 per month.
