To manage Live Activities on iPhone, use Dynamic Island to expand, collapse, or switch between active updates, and use each app’s settings to turn its Live Activities controls on or off when available. On iPhone 18 Pro models, Dynamic Island can show up to three Live Activities at once; Apple does not state one universal limit for every iPhone model.
What multiple Live Activities look like on iPhone
Live Activities are app-provided updates for things in progress, such as Maps directions, a sports event, or a food delivery. They are not a separate list that you build yourself. An activity can appear on the Lock Screen, and on supported iPhones it can also appear in Dynamic Island while the phone is unlocked, whether you are on the Home Screen or using another app.

Apple’s current iPhone guide documents a capacity of up to three activities at once specifically for iPhone 18 Pro models. That figure should not be assumed for other models.
Switch, expand, or collapse activities in Dynamic Island
When activities are visible in Dynamic Island, use these gestures:

Apple’s guide describes tapping to switch between two activities and swiping across Dynamic Island for the up-to-three display on iPhone 18 Pro models. It does not give a single simultaneous-activity maximum that applies to every iPhone.

- Open Settings.
- Tap Apps, then choose the app.
- Tap Live Activities and adjust the available control.
Apple notes that not all apps have a Live Activities setting. If the option is missing, check whether the app supports Live Activities; Apple’s cited guidance does not describe a system setting that can add support to an app that lacks it.
Follow activities on the Lock Screen
The Lock Screen lets you follow an app’s progress, including directions, sports updates, and delivery updates. Apple documents app-specific Live Activities settings, but does not specify a universal gesture for reordering or dismissing multiple Lock Screen activities. The Dynamic Island gestures above should not be treated as Lock Screen controls.
