To make an AI video in Snapchat, find the Animate It Lens in the Lens Carousel or search for “Animate It” in Lens Explorer. Edit its prompt or choose a Trending Prompt, take a Snap, then tap to create the video. Snapchat Support says Animate It requires Lens+ or Snapchat Platinum; it does not specify a universal rollout by country, device, or account.
How to create an AI video with Animate It
- Find the Lens: Open Snapchat’s Lens Carousel, or open Lens Explorer and search for Animate It.
- Choose a prompt: Edit the caption or prompt shown by the Lens, or select one of its Trending Prompts.
- Take a Snap: Capture the Snap the Lens will use.
- Generate the video: Tap to create the video.

Snap describes Animate It as its first video-generation Lens on Snapchat in its December 22, 2025 announcement. That product description is distinct from the detailed steps and subscription requirements on the Support page.

For someone making a video in the Snapchat app, Animate It is the direct workflow: it uses a Snap and a prompt that can be edited. AI Clips and AI Video Transform are creator-facing tools in Lens Studio, not alternative names for Animate It.

Snapchat Support’s Animate It instructions do not state the generated video’s exact duration, resolution, generation time, prompt limits, or supported output format. They also do not establish availability by country, operating system, rollout cohort, or account criteria beyond naming Lens+ and Snapchat Platinum. Availability may vary, so check whether the Lens appears in your account rather than assuming it is available to every subscriber.

Snap’s Q4 2025 press release reports nearly two billion engagements with Imagine Lens since its September 2025 launch. That figure concerns an image-generation Lens, not unique users, generated videos, or Animate It usage; it should not be used as a measure of Snapchat AI video adoption. Snap Inc.
