What does a dispenser do?
A dispenser is a redstone-activated block whose action depends on the item inside. It can fire items such as arrows or fireworks, or use certain items in a special way, such as placing water from a bucket. It has nine inventory slots, and each new redstone pulse triggers one activation. A sustained lever signal does not mean continuous firing; repeated activations require repeated pulses. These blocks have related crafting recipes, but they behave differently. A dispenser’s recipe includes a bow; a dropper’s does not. A dispenser can use or fire certain items, including performing actions such as placing water from a bucket. A dropper instead ejects or transfers items, including into a container. If the crafted result is a dropper, check that the bow is in the center slot and that redstone dust is immediately below it.
