It depends on what you mean by a “YouTube Live playlist.” To repeat videos while watching a YouTube playlist, use YouTube’s Loop or Repeat control. To broadcast your own playlist of local clips, use OBS’s Media Source loop for one file or its VLC Video source for multiple files. Neither method is documented as guaranteeing a gapless transition between videos.
First, choose the right kind of playlist
A viewer playlist and a creator’s live-broadcast playlist are different things. YouTube’s playlist control repeats items for the viewer. OBS’s source controls loop media files that you send into a broadcast. The instructions below cover both cases.

Loop a playlist you are watching on YouTube
- Open a video that belongs to the playlist.
- On a computer or mobile device, expand the playlist panel and select Loop.
- On a TV or game console, open the playlist’s Repeat control and select the playlist repeat setting.
YouTube Help documents this control for repeating playlist items. It does not say that it removes the transition between separate videos, nor that it restarts a livestream that is still in progress. Repeat one video file
- In OBS, add a Media Source and select the local video file.
- Open the source’s properties and enable Loop.
- Preview the output and let it run through the file boundary so you can check the actual transition.
OBS documents the Loop setting for a single Media Source. The setting repeats the file; it is not a promise that the restart will be invisible or silent. See OBS Media Sources.

Cycle through several video files
- Install VLC on the computer running OBS. OBS requires VLC for its VLC Video source to appear.
- Add a VLC Video source in OBS, then add the local media files to its playlist.
- Enable Loop Playlist in the source properties. OBS documents this option as restarting the source after it has run through its media files.
- Preview the playlist and test the transitions using the same media and encoder setup you intend to broadcast with.
OBS documents playlist looping, but not a guaranteed zero-delay, black-frame-free or audio-continuous handoff between files. Whether a transition appears seamless depends on the actual media and setup, so check it before describing your broadcast as gapless. See OBS Media Sources and the OBS Sources Guide.
