To link Halo Waypoint to Twitch, sign in at HaloWaypoint.com with the Xbox Live account tied to the Gamertag you play with, open Settings, choose Linked Accounts, and select Link Twitch. Then sign in to the Twitch account you want to use, authorize 343 Industries, and confirm the page shows Status: Account Connected.
The connection exists mainly for Halo Twitch Drops. Players earn eligible in-game content by taking part in Halo events on Twitch, and the rewards and requirements change from event to event and are offered for a limited time.

Link your Twitch account step by step
Before you start, make sure you have both accounts ready and that you are signed in to the right one in each browser. The steps below follow Halo Support’s current guidance, checked in 2026.

Go to HaloWaypoint.com and sign in with the Xbox Live account connected to the Gamertag you want to use. Confirm the Gamertag before you link, because the connection is tied to the account you are signed in with.

Click your profile picture and choose Settings.

Open Linked Accounts and select Link Twitch.

If prompted, sign in to the Twitch account you want to connect. Use the account you will actually watch Halo streams on, since progress is tracked against it.

Authorize 343 Industries when Twitch asks for permission.

Refresh the Halo Waypoint page and check that the account shows Status: Account Connected. If it does not, Halo Support suggests unlinking and linking again.

You can also start from a reward in Twitch Drops Inventory by selecting Connect on that reward. It takes you to Halo Waypoint, but the same requirements apply: the correct Xbox account must be signed in and Twitch must authorize the connection.
Linking is only the first part of getting a reward
A linked account does not hand out rewards on its own. Earning and claiming happen in separate places, and it helps to know which step you are on when something goes wrong.
Earn the Drop on Twitch
Meet the event’s requirements by watching the qualifying Halo content on Twitch while signed in to the linked account. Progress is only counted during a live, affiliated stream. Watched VODs do not count toward progress.
Claim the reward in Twitch Drops Inventory
Once the requirement is complete, claim the reward in Twitch Drops Inventory. Each Drop can be claimed once per account.

Redeem Halo: The Master Chief Collection Drops on Halo Waypoint
For Halo: The Master Chief Collection Drops, claiming in Twitch Drops Inventory is not the last step. Sign in to Halo Waypoint and visit the Twitch Drops Redemption page to claim the listed reward there as well.
Change the Twitch account linked to Halo Waypoint
Halo Support states that only one Halo Waypoint account can be linked to a Twitch account at a time, and a Halo Waypoint account can hold only one Twitch connection. To switch to a different Twitch account, use this order:

In Twitch, open the Twitch Connection settings and disconnect 343 Industries.

Sign in to the Twitch account you prefer.

Return to Halo Waypoint, go to Settings, then Linked Accounts. If the old Twitch connection is still shown, unlink it there.

Select Link Twitch, sign in to the new account, and authorize 343 Industries.
Changing the account in this order avoids the most common mismatch, where Halo Waypoint still points at the old Twitch login while you are watching on the new one.

The connection disappeared after a Twitch password change
Halo Support says a recent Twitch password change can unlink the account. Repeat the linking steps above and confirm that the page shows Account Connected.
The reward is missing from Halo Waypoint
First confirm that the Twitch requirement is complete and the reward is ready in Twitch Drops Inventory. Then, in Halo Waypoint, open the profile menu, choose Drops & Code Redemption, and select the Twitch Drops tab. If the reward has a Claim button, use it to manually grant the earned item.
The reward says claimed but is not in the game
Confirm that the Gamertag you are playing with is the one linked to Halo Waypoint. Halo Support recommends waiting 24 hours, then restarting Halo Infinite or Halo: The Master Chief Collection. If the reward is still missing after that, submit a support ticket and include screenshots of your Twitch Drops Inventory and the Halo Waypoint Drops and redemption history.
Twitch progress is not increasing
- Watch an affiliated live stream while signed in to the Twitch account linked to Halo Waypoint. VODs do not count.
- Use the Twitch website on PC or Mac, or the official Twitch app on Android or iOS.
- Close extra Twitch tabs. Multiple open pages, or watching channels for different campaigns at the same time, can interrupt progress.
- Disable browser extensions as a test, since they can also interfere with progress.
What Halo Support cannot do
Halo Support says it cannot grant Twitch Drop rewards or help with linking accounts. For problems with your Twitch account or for current Twitch outages, its guidance directs players to Twitch Support.
