You can use the same Fortnite progress on multiple platforms by linking each platform account to the Epic Games account that holds that progress. First confirm you have the right Epic account: linking accounts does not combine separate progress histories, and unlinking can cut off access on a console.
Before linking, find the Epic account with your progress
Fortnite progress is stored on your Epic Games account, not on the console account. Epic puts it plainly: “Your Epic Games account is where all your saved data and progress is stored, not your linked console account.” Epic’s recovery guidance explains how to identify the account if you appear to have lost progress.

- In a browser, sign in to the Epic Games account you think holds your Fortnite progress and check that it is the account you intend to use.
- If you are unsure which Epic account is associated with a console login, sign out and use that console’s sign-in option on Epic’s website. Epic also recommends trying the email address for your Epic account or a known linked external account to identify it.
- If you have used more than one Epic account, check each one before changing any links. Decide which progress history you want to use.
Know what linking can—and cannot—do
Link the platform accounts you use to the same Epic account. Epic allows only one account of each platform type to be linked to an Epic account at a time, and a platform account cannot be linked to more than one Epic account. Epic’s sync instructions cover Fortnite and other supported games.

Linking does not move progress from one Epic account into another. If two platforms show different progress because they are tied to different Epic accounts, Epic says those histories cannot be merged. Choose which progress to keep before changing links; if you need to retain both histories, keep the accounts separate. Epic’s troubleshooting guidance addresses this situation.

Link a console account to the intended Epic account
- Sign in to the Epic Games account that holds the Fortnite progress you want.
- Open Account Settings, then Linked accounts.
- Select the icon for your console platform and follow Epic’s prompts to sign in to that platform account and complete linking.
- Launch Fortnite on the console and check that the expected progress appears.
Epic provides platform-specific sync instructions for Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, Steam, and PC or mobile. Follow the instructions for your platform on Epic’s current sync page. A child account with Cabined Account limits may require help from a parent or guardian.
If the wrong progress appears
Stop before creating or linking more accounts. The console may be connected to a different Epic account than the one holding your main progress. Check the linked account, then follow Epic’s sync troubleshooting instructions to connect the console to the Epic account with the progress you want.

If Epic’s recovery flow has left the console prompting you to create or link an account, Epic’s recovery article describes registering the console-linked Epic account if needed, verifying its email, unlinking the console from the account with no data, and linking it to the Epic account with the desired progress. If the correct Epic account is linked but progress still does not appear, contact Epic Support.
Understand the risks before unlinking or replacing an account
Unlinking is not a reset that transfers data. Fortnite progress and purchases remain on the original Epic account, but the unlinked console loses access to them. Starting Fortnite after unlinking may automatically create a new, empty Epic account. Confirm which account is involved before proceeding. Epic explains the effects of unlinking.

If you are replacing an existing account of the same platform type, Epic may require removal of a linking restriction. Epic says that restriction can be removed only once every 365 days and cannot be bypassed. If the platform account you are removing has an active Fortnite Crew subscription, cancel it first; Epic says it will not receive new Crew rewards after unlinking. See Epic’s instructions for linking a different platform account.

Epic says purchases and progress are available on supported platforms linked to the same Epic account, with an exception for V-Bucks. The rules for V-Bucks depend on the platform, so do not assume currency will transfer just because accounts are linked. Check Epic’s cross-platform purchases and progress guidance for the details.
