1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesTo let a paired car or another Bluetooth device access contacts in an Android Enterprise work profile, assign an Intune Android Enterprise device-restriction policy and set Contact sharing via Bluetooth to Enable. In the Settings Catalog, use the inverse control, Block Contact sharing via Bluetooth (work profile level), and set it to False if you want to explicitly permit sharing.
This is a work-profile contact policy, not a global Bluetooth switch. It affects whether paired endpoints can read work contacts, and it does not by itself change Bluetooth availability, personal-profile caller ID, or other contact-search behavior.

What the Intune setting actually controls
Android Enterprise separates work data from personal data. The Bluetooth contact-sharing control determines whether a paired endpoint can access contacts stored in the work profile. A common example is a vehicle hands-free system displaying names and numbers from a company address book.
Enabling the setting permits sharing from the work profile to a paired Bluetooth endpoint. The endpoint might be a car, headset system, phone, tablet, or another accessory that requests contact access during pairing. The policy does not create a new contact list; it grants the endpoint permission to read the work-profile contacts that Android exposes.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
The control is narrower than Bluetooth itself. A device can have Bluetooth enabled while work-contact sharing remains blocked. Conversely, allowing contact sharing does not force Bluetooth on or let a user configure Bluetooth when another policy prevents that.
Enrollment scopes and prerequisites
Supported Android Enterprise work-profile scenarios
Microsoft documents this control for Android Enterprise personally owned devices with a work profile and for corporate-owned devices enrolled with a work profile. Select a profile type that matches how the device is enrolled. A policy aimed at a personally owned work profile should not be treated as a universal policy for fully managed or dedicated devices.
The work profile must be running
Android must have the work profile turned on for work-profile contact access. When a user pauses or turns off the work profile, applications cannot look up work-profile contacts or remote work directories. Bluetooth sharing therefore cannot restore access while the profile is inactive.

Pairing still requires user and endpoint support
The policy only authorizes sharing. The user must still pair the endpoint, approve any Android or vehicle prompt, and use an endpoint that supports Bluetooth contact synchronization. A car that never requests contacts will not display them even when Intune allows the policy.

Configure Contact sharing via Bluetooth in a device-restriction profile
Use this route when you want the named device-restriction setting with the Enable, Disable, or Not configured behavior shown in Android Enterprise policy templates. Intune labels can change slightly between admin-center updates, so search for the setting name if a menu is organized differently.
- Open the Intune admin center. Go to Devices, open Configuration, and choose Create or Create profile.
- Choose the platform. Select Android Enterprise.
- Choose the profile type. Select the Android Enterprise device-restriction template for the work-profile ownership mode used by the target devices. Use the personally owned work-profile option for employee-owned devices and the corporate-owned work-profile option for company-owned devices enrolled that way.
- Open the work-profile settings. In the restrictions list, find Contact sharing via Bluetooth. Do not substitute Block Bluetooth or Block Bluetooth configuration; those controls have wider effects.
- Set the value to Enable. This explicitly allows a paired Bluetooth device, including a car, to access work-profile contacts.
- Assign the profile. Target a test group first, then the intended user or device groups. Check that assignments match the enrollment scope; a policy assigned to the wrong ownership type may not apply.
- Save and synchronize. Complete the profile, then ask a test device to check in from the Company Portal or wait for its normal management sync interval.
Use the Settings Catalog equivalent
Settings Catalog presents the same decision as an inverse control. Create an Android Enterprise Settings Catalog policy, search for Block Contact sharing via Bluetooth (work profile level), and set it to False when the goal is to permit sharing.
- In Devices > Configuration, create a new policy and select Android Enterprise.
- Choose Settings catalog as the profile type.
- Use the settings search to locate Block Contact sharing via Bluetooth (work profile level).
- Add the setting and set the Boolean value to False.
- Assign the policy to the appropriate work-profile users or devices, then monitor the deployment status.
Because this is an inverse setting, True blocks sharing and False removes that block. If the setting is left unconfigured, Intune does not change Android’s value. Microsoft security guidance says work contacts are normally unavailable to other devices such as automobiles unless sharing is enabled, so use an explicit allow when hands-free access is an intentional requirement rather than relying on an inherited default.

| Policy choice | Hands-free behavior | Work-contact exposure | Bluetooth scope | Operational note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Contact sharing via Bluetooth: Enable | A paired, compatible endpoint can request and read work contacts. | Contacts are exposed to that paired endpoint and may be cached there. | Bluetooth remains governed by its own policies. | Use when vehicle or accessory access is required and acceptable. |
| Contact sharing via Bluetooth: Disable | The endpoint cannot obtain work-profile contacts through Bluetooth. | Prevents new Bluetooth contact sharing, but does not guarantee removal of data already synchronized. | Bluetooth can still be available for other permitted functions. | Choose when contact confidentiality outweighs convenience. |
| Settings Catalog block: True | Same effective result as disabling contact sharing. | Paired devices are prevented from sharing work-profile contacts. | It does not globally disable Bluetooth. | Use the inverse label carefully; True means block. |
| Not configured | Intune makes no change; Android’s own default or another management source applies. | Do not assume this equals an explicit allow. | Other Bluetooth restrictions remain independent. | Use only when another policy or the platform default is deliberately controlling the behavior. |
Why contact caching changes the security decision
When a car or accessory completes its first contact synchronization, it may retain a local copy of the work contacts. That copy is outside the work-profile container and may remain in the endpoint’s memory, storage, backup, or user-visible address book.

Turning the Intune policy off later stops or prevents future sharing, but Microsoft warns that it might not remove work contacts already synchronized to a Bluetooth device. Treat a previously paired endpoint as potentially retaining data until it has been cleaned separately.
Cleanup steps after accidental or unauthorized sharing
- Disable or block contact sharing for the affected work-profile assignment.
- Unpair the Android device from the vehicle or accessory.
- Use the endpoint’s own phonebook, privacy, or Bluetooth settings to delete synchronized contacts. Vehicle interfaces often have a separate delete-phone-data or remove-device command.
- If the endpoint cannot confirm deletion, follow its documented storage-reset or factory-reset procedure through the owner or fleet administrator.
- Review whether the endpoint was shared, sold, rented, or backed up, and handle it under the organization’s incident-response and retention rules.
These steps address endpoint copies; changing the Intune value alone is not a verified erasure operation.
Do not confuse this setting with related controls
Block Bluetooth
Block Bluetooth is a broad restriction documented for supported corporate-owned modes. It can disable Bluetooth functionality rather than only stopping work-contact synchronization. Use it when the requirement is to prohibit Bluetooth itself, not when a user needs Bluetooth audio or hands-free calling without access to corporate contacts.
Block Bluetooth configuration
Block Bluetooth configuration prevents users from configuring Bluetooth. It does not express the narrower decision about whether an already paired endpoint may read work contacts.

Search work contacts and caller ID in the personal profile
The setting that allows searching work contacts or displaying work-contact caller ID in a personal profile is a separate privacy decision. A user may be allowed to see a work caller name in the personal dialer while Bluetooth contact sharing remains blocked, or the reverse. Configure each requirement independently.
Turning off the work profile
Pausing the work profile prevents applications from looking up work contacts and remote directories. It is a profile-state control, not a replacement for the Bluetooth sharing policy. A device that needs work contacts for a drive must have the profile active and the relevant policy applied.
Verify that the policy reached a test device
Test with one device from each enrollment scope before broad deployment. The exact status wording varies by Intune and Android Enterprise release, but the validation sequence is consistent.
- Confirm the test user or device appears in the assignment and is using the expected Android Enterprise work-profile enrollment.
- Force a management sync and inspect the profile’s per-device status for a successful application rather than merely an assigned state.
- Confirm the work profile is active. A paused profile can make a correctly deployed policy appear ineffective.
- Pair the device with a controlled test car or accessory and accept the endpoint’s contact-access prompt.
- Check whether a known work contact appears on the endpoint. Test a personal contact separately so you can identify which profile supplied the data.
- Unpair and repeat after changing the policy to block on the test assignment. New contact synchronization should be prevented, while previously cached entries should be checked and removed manually.
Troubleshoot common failure modes
The setting is missing
Verify that the profile platform is Android Enterprise and that the selected template matches a supported work-profile ownership mode. In Settings Catalog, search the full phrase Block Contact sharing via Bluetooth (work profile level) rather than a shortened Bluetooth term.

The policy says succeeded, but the car shows no contacts
Check that the work profile is on, the endpoint requested contact access, and the Android pairing prompt was accepted. Some vehicles require a second permission inside their own phonebook or connected-device menu. Also confirm that the contacts are actually stored or synchronized in the work profile.
Bluetooth audio works but contacts do not
This is expected when contact sharing is blocked while other Bluetooth functions remain allowed. Review the contact-sharing value separately from global Bluetooth restrictions.
Contacts remain after blocking
Blocking prevents new access; it is not a guaranteed wipe of endpoint storage. Delete the synchronized address book on the car or accessory and unpair the Android device. Escalate to the endpoint owner if deletion cannot be verified.

Rollout checklist for administrators
- Define whether hands-free access to work contacts is required for the user population.
- Identify personally owned and corporate-owned work-profile enrollments; assign matching policies.
- Choose either the device-restriction setting set to Enable or the Settings Catalog inverse set to False.
- Document the endpoint-caching risk and the cleanup process for vehicles and accessories.
- Keep global Bluetooth and Bluetooth-configuration restrictions separate from contact-sharing decisions.
- Test with the work profile active and with a real paired endpoint before broad assignment.
- Review personal-profile contact-search and caller-ID settings as a separate privacy decision.
- When withdrawing access, plan endpoint data removal instead of relying only on a policy change.
Key decision
Set Contact sharing via Bluetooth to Enable in the Android Enterprise work-profile device-restriction policy when paired cars or accessories must read work contacts. If you use Settings Catalog, set Block Contact sharing via Bluetooth (work profile level) to False. Keep the work profile active, test the assignment on the correct enrollment type, and treat every paired endpoint as capable of retaining contacts after synchronization.
