A duration of 0 creates a permanent ban. You must be a logged administrator or an RCON administrator for state-changing commands; a monitor account can observe but should not be used to kick or ban.

What each command does
Arma Reforger has separate actions for removing a player from the current session and preventing future connections. A kick is immediate but temporary: it ejects the player and they can join again. A ban is tied to an identity and lasts for the duration you specify, including indefinitely when the duration is zero.

Check your administrator access first
In-game administrators
To administer from inside the game, authenticate with the server’s configured administrator password:

- Enter
#login <password>, replacing<password>with the server’spasswordAdmin. - If your account is already listed as an administrator in the server configuration, log in according to that configuration; listed administrators do not need to supply the password.
A successful login gives you the logged-admin permission needed for kick and ban operations. Do not share the administrator password in public chat or store it in an unprotected script.
RCON administrators
RCON lets you run administration commands without joining the game, but the server owner must enable it and configure authentication and permissions. Connect with an RCON client using the credentials and endpoint configured for that server. Your account must have RCON-admin rights for state-changing commands.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Monitor versus administrator permissions
The configuration supports administrator and monitor permissions, as well as command allowlists and denylists. A monitor account is useful for watching the server and reading status, but it should not be treated as an account that can kick or ban. If #players works while #kick or #ban is refused, check the assigned role and the command filter before changing anything else.
How to kick a connected player
1. Authenticate
Log in with #login <password> if you are administering in game, or connect through an RCON account with administrator permissions.
2. Display the player list
Run:
#players
The result includes the connected players and their playerId values. Use the ID from this current list, not a name copied from an earlier session.
3. Kick the correct ID
Run:
#kick <playerId>
For example, if the list shows the target’s current ID as 123456789, enter #kick 123456789. The player is disconnected from the server. A kick is not a ban, so the same player can reconnect immediately unless you create a ban afterward.

4. Confirm the result
Run #players again and verify that the player no longer appears. If they reconnect, that confirms the command was a kick rather than a ban. If the command reports an unknown player, refresh the list first: player IDs can change when a person disconnects and rejoins.
How to create a temporary or permanent ban
Use the dedicated-server syntax
The documented syntax is:
#ban create <playerId or identityId or 1.2.0 playerName> <durationInSeconds> <reason (optional)>
The duration is expressed in seconds. The reason is optional syntactically, but recording one is good moderation practice because it makes later review more consistent.
Ban someone who is still connected
First run #players, then use the player’s current playerId. A one-hour example is:
#ban create 123456789 3600
To attach a reason, append it after the duration, for example:
#ban create 123456789 3600 repeated team killing
The number 3600 represents one hour because the command accepts seconds. Convert the intended period before submitting it; the command does not use a human-readable value such as “1h”.
Create a permanent ban
Use 0 for the duration:
#ban create 123456789 0
A zero duration means the ban lasts forever until an administrator removes it. Add a reason when your moderation policy requires an audit trail:

Ban a player who has already disconnected
A disconnected player no longer has a usable current-session playerId. Use the player’s persistent identityId instead. This is also safer when a name is common or several players have similar names. Obtain the identity ID from your server’s available administration records or ban information, then run the same #ban create command with that identity value.
The syntax also documents a 1.2.0 playerName form. Prefer an identity ID when one is available, especially for an offline ban, because names can be mistyped or changed and may not uniquely identify a person.

List bans
Run:
#ban list
To request a later page, add its page number:
#ban list 2
The official management reference distinguishes the display limits: an RCON session can show 25 bans per page, while the in-game interface shows 10. If a long list appears incomplete, request the next page rather than assuming the record was deleted.
Identify the persistent ID
Find the ban entry’s identityId. Do not substitute a temporary playerId; unbanning requires the persistent identity value associated with the ban.
Remove the ban
Run:
#ban remove <identityId>
After removal, the player is eligible to connect again, subject to any other active restriction. If the player is currently connected through a session that predates the removal, disconnecting them separately may still be necessary before they can rejoin under the new state.
Kick or ban through RCON without joining
RCON is the practical option for a headless or geographically remote dedicated server. It does not bypass security: the server must expose an RCON endpoint, the client must authenticate, and the account must have the required permission.

Remote workflow
- Enable RCON in the dedicated-server configuration and create an RCON account with a strong credential.
- Assign administrator permission if the account must change player state. Assign monitor permission only when read-only observation is intended.
- Check command whitelist and blacklist settings. A globally enabled RCON account can still be prevented from running
#kickor#banby command filters. - Connect with the RCON client using the configured address, port, authentication and encryption settings.
- Run
#players, copy the correct current ID, and then run#kickor#ban create. - Use
#ban listto verify the record and#ban removewith the identity ID when reversing a decision.
Keep the RCON port restricted to trusted networks or a secure management path. Never paste RCON passwords into public chat, screenshots or shared configuration snippets.

| AdminCommandsByCryneX mod | Depends on the installed administration setup | Mod-defined administrator access | Player name or ID, plus mod ban IDs for unban operations | #ban accepts days; #pban is permanent |
Provides #ban list and #unban |
The listing identifies game version 1.8.0.13; verify compatibility before installation |
For a server that already supports the official commands, the built-in path avoids an extra dependency. A mod can offer name-based shortcuts or a different workflow, but it introduces version and configuration maintenance. Test a mod after game updates and remove conflicting command filters before diagnosing a failed moderation command.

The listing identifies game version 1.8.0.13. That version label is not a guarantee that the mod works with your current server build, so check the mod’s current compatibility information and test it on a controlled server before relying on it for live moderation. Do not mix the mod’s ban IDs and unban syntax with the built-in #ban remove <identityId> workflow unless the mod documentation explicitly says they interoperate.
What to do on an official server or when you are not an admin
Players do not gain administrative authority merely by joining a server. On official servers, or on community servers where you are not an administrator, use the available reporting process instead of attempting admin commands.
Vote kick where enabled
Some servers enable an in-game vote-kick function. Its availability and threshold are controlled by that server; if no vote option appears, the feature may be disabled or you may not meet its conditions.
Best Value
Submit a useful report
For an official-server incident, include the player’s in-game name, the server name, the approximate incident time, a factual description of the behavior and any available evidence. Specific times and evidence help the operator or support team match the report to logs and other accounts.

Understand BattlEye bans
A BattlEye ban is different from a ban issued by one community server administrator. BattlEye bans apply globally across BattlEye-protected servers and are handled by BattlEye. A local administrator cannot remove a global BattlEye enforcement through #ban remove.
Troubleshooting failed commands
“Unknown command” or no response
- Confirm that you authenticated with
#login <password>or connected with an RCON account rather than an ordinary player account. - Check whether the server is a dedicated server; the documented built-in ban command is a dedicated-server feature.
- Review command whitelist and blacklist settings. A permission can be correct while the command remains filtered.
- If you installed a mod, verify that its command prefix and syntax are being used and that it is enabled on the current server build.
“No permission” for kick or ban
Verify that the account is logged as an administrator. The management roles allow #players more broadly than #kick and #ban; a monitor or read-only RCON role may therefore list players but still be unable to change their state.
The player cannot be found
Run #players again and copy the current playerId. If the target disconnected, switch to the persistent identityId for a ban. Avoid relying on a display name when an identity ID is available.
The player returns after a kick
This is expected. A kick only ends the current connection. Create a timed or permanent ban if the behavior warrants preventing another connection.

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
An unban appears not to work
Check that you used the correct persistent identityId from #ban list, requested every relevant page of the list, and removed the record from the same ban system that created it. A mod-created ban may require the mod’s own #unban command, while a BattlEye ban is outside the server’s local ban list.
Quick Recap
Moderation practices that prevent mistakes
- Verify identity before acting: match the player name, current
playerIdand, for bans, the persistentidentityIdwhenever possible. - Use the least severe action that fits: kick for an immediate disruption, a timed ban for a defined violation, and a permanent ban only when your rules justify it.
- Record a concise reason: append a factual reason to
#ban createso another administrator can understand the decision later. - Protect remote access: restrict RCON exposure, use unique credentials and avoid granting state-changing rights to monitor accounts.
- Review before reversing: use
#ban listand the correct page number rather than creating a second, conflicting record. - Recheck after updates: game updates, configuration changes and mods can alter command availability or compatibility.
