What’s actually slowing this PC down?

To keep game audio in a YouTube rerun, identify the exact notice and timestamps first, then check whether the flagged sound is licensed music or another third-party track. Use the game’s official streaming guidance, remove or mute only audio you are not cleared to use, and check the archived video in YouTube Studio after the stream. A prior successful stream or VOD does not guarantee a new rerun will avoid a match.
First, identify what YouTube muted or flagged
“Muted audio” can describe different problems: a Content ID match or restriction on an archived video, a warning or interruption during a live broadcast, or an audio-capture problem that has nothing to do with copyright. The exact notice and affected timestamps are more useful than changing the entire game mix at once.

- Open YouTube Studio and inspect the live stream or saved VOD’s copyright or restriction details. Note the notice type, timestamps, and identified material.
- If the live stream stopped, check Studio for a strike or other notice. YouTube says it scans live streams for third-party content; continuing to show matched material after a warning can interrupt or terminate the stream. YouTube’s live-streaming copyright guidance also says Content ID claims on an archived live stream are made after the stream ends, if you choose to archive it.
- Compare the flagged timestamps with the game’s soundtrack, cutscenes, menus, radio, and any music or other audio added to the broadcast. Do not assume the game itself is the source until the notice identifies a match.
A claim, a live interruption, a strike, and missing audio in a recording are not interchangeable diagnoses. The YouTube guidance documents scanning and archived claims; it does not say that every quiet or absent game track is caused by copyright matching.

Check the game’s own streaming and music rules
Look up the current policy for the specific title on its publisher’s official site, and check the game’s audio settings for a streamer mode or licensed-music control. A publisher may set conditions for gameplay videos, and those title-specific terms can differ from general platform guidance.

For example, SEGA’s guidelines say third-party elements such as music may require separate permission, direct users to check product-specific policies that may take priority, and require new elements such as commentary or narration under its general guidance. Those are SEGA’s terms, not a universal rule for all games. The guidelines page was last updated March 12, 2026; its support page says it was updated March 19, 2026.
Another narrow example: Pokémon’s co-streaming guidance covers Pokémon Presents and Play! Pokémon content, not every Pokémon gameplay stream. It says some Pokémon Presents material may be flagged or muted in saved VODs, and that Play! Pokémon broadcast VODs may be stored and published only with copyrighted music removed or muted. That guidance was last updated January 31, 2024.

Preserve gameplay sound while addressing the track
If the game has a licensed-music control
Turn off or replace the licensed music while leaving effects and dialogue enabled, if the title offers that option. Then make a short private or unlisted test recording and check the sound before starting a public rerun. This is a practical way to isolate the soundtrack; it is not a YouTube feature or a guarantee against every claim.
If the game has no separate music control
For audio you are not cleared to rebroadcast, remove or mute the music before rerunning the recording. Whether you can isolate it from effects and dialogue depends on the game, operating system, and streaming software; there is no single routing procedure established for every setup. Avoid muting all game audio unless that is the only workable option, because it removes effects and dialogue too.

- PLUG IN AND HEAR SOUND IN SECONDS - USB Type-A connector with a 3.5mm stereo headphone output and a separate 3.5mm mono microphone input. No drivers, no software, no external power - the adapter is USB bus-powered and is recognized as a standard USB audio device.
- WORKS ON WINDOWS, MAC AND LINUX - Driverless on Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista/7/8, Linux and Mac OSX, and compliant with the USB Audio Device Class 1.0 specification, so any system that supports class-compliant USB audio will see it. Select it as the sound output and input device after plugging it in.
- TWO JACKS, TWO JOBS - The green jack is stereo OUT for headphones or powered speakers; the pink jack is mono microphone IN for a 3.5mm mic. It does NOT support 4-pole headsets on a single combo plug, it does NOT power passive speakers, and it does NOT add surround sound - it is a stereo 2-channel adapter.
- FOR LAPTOPS AND DESKTOPS THAT NEED AN AUDIO PORT BACK - Adds a headphone and mic port to a laptop, desktop, or mini PC whose onboard jack has failed or was never there. Managed and work-issued computers can block new USB audio devices by policy - check with your IT department before ordering for a company machine.
- SABRENT SUPPORT AND WARRANTY - What is in the box: one USB audio sound adapter. Backed by a 1-year limited warranty, extended to 2 years when you register within 90 days on the manufacturer's website.
Pokémon’s instructions for its covered Play! Pokémon VODs are a concrete example of removing or muting copyrighted music, not a rule for every game. Do not treat a streamer setting as permission to use audio: it changes what is captured, not the rights to that material.
If you have permission to use the music
Check that the license covers the actual use: the track, platform, territory, live transmission, archived VOD, and any edited or rebroadcast version. A license alone may not prevent an automated match. YouTube advises creators with licensed third-party content to ask the rights owner to add their channel to the Content ID allowlist. Without that allowlisting, a live stream can still be interrupted even if the creator has a license.

If you believe a claim is mistaken, or you own or have permission for the matched material, use YouTube’s current dispute process and provide evidence. A dispute does not guarantee a particular outcome.
Check the VOD after the rerun
After the stream ends, inspect the archived video in YouTube Studio and compare any new notice with the timestamps you recorded earlier. YouTube says an archived live stream can receive a Content ID claim after the stream ends. Review that result before treating the issue as fixed; the available guidance does not establish that a particular rerun file is scanned differently from a first-run broadcast.

In particular, an old recording, a previously successful stream, or an earlier VOD status does not establish that a fresh transmission will be clear. Rights and platform outcomes can vary by game, track, territory, platform, monetization, and whether the content is live, archived, edited, or rebroadcast.
Or let it run in the cloud
If the problem is keeping a recorded video looping as a YouTube live stream, StreamNeo is a cloud option: upload the video or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. The rerun still needs audio you are entitled to transmit; cloud hosting does not clear music rights or prevent a Content ID match.
- Nothing has to stay on at home: the stream runs from the cloud, so your computer and home connection can be off.
- Each slot streams the upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot rather than quality tiers.
- It can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream.
- The first day is free with no card, one free day per account.
Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. UPI and cards are available in India; card checkout is available worldwide. Start your free StreamNeo day.
