If your YouTube gaming rerun stops when the playlist reaches its last file, first check the playback source: it may simply have run out of content. Enable repeat for the file or the entire playlist, verify the playlist contains everything you intend to play, and watch what happens to the encoder feed at the point where playback previously stopped. If playback continues but YouTube loses the stream, investigate the encoder connection and Live Control Room settings separately.
Why the stream stops at the last file
Your setup has at least two separate parts: the software or source that plays the video files, and the encoder connection that sends a live feed to YouTube. When playback reaches the end of its final item, the source may stop producing content. That does not by itself establish that YouTube ended the live event; local playback and YouTube’s live-stream state need to be checked independently. iTechGuides’ guidance on keeping a stream running after a video ends likewise focuses on looping playback and distinguishing it from the live connection.

Fix the playlist or media source first
- Identify what is playing the files. Determine whether the encoder is receiving content from one media file, a playlist source, or another playback tool. The loop control and its name depend on that software and version.
- Enable the appropriate repeat option. For a single recording, repeat that file. For multiple recordings, enable repeat for the whole playlist—not just the current item—if your software offers separate choices.
- Check the playlist contents. Confirm all intended rerun files are present and in the expected order. An omitted file or a playlist containing only one item can make playback appear to stop sooner than expected.
- Observe the next pass through the end. Watch playback and the encoder’s output when the final listed file ends. The source needs to keep supplying content for the encoder to continue transmitting. OBS’s YouTube streaming guide provides encoder setup context, but exact playback controls vary by source and software version.
If playback continues but YouTube loses the feed
If the source keeps playing past the former stopping point but the live stream ends or loses its feed, the issue may be in the encoder connection or the YouTube event settings rather than the playlist. YouTube documents the stream key and stream URL as the connection details used by an encoder, and its Live Control Room settings include auto-start and auto-stop options. Check them in YouTube Help: Manage live stream settings.

- Confirm the encoder is still connected and sending output; distinguish a stopped or disconnected feed from playback that has ended.
- Check that the encoder is using the intended YouTube stream key and stream URL.
- Review the event’s auto-start and auto-stop settings in Live Control Room. Their effect depends on your event configuration.
- Check YouTube’s stream-health status alongside the encoder output to see whether the feed is reaching YouTube.
Choose the repeat setting that matches your rerun

Setting names and behavior are software- and version-specific, so use the controls for your actual playback source rather than assuming a particular menu or label.

Troubleshooting when the stream still stops
- The same file ends the broadcast again: Recheck whether repeat is enabled on the file or playlist source that is actually feeding the encoder. Then observe whether playback restarts and whether encoder output continues.
- The playlist repeats, but YouTube loses the feed: Treat this as a connection or event-settings problem. Check the encoder connection, stream key and URL, stream-health status, and Live Control Room auto-start/auto-stop settings.
- You cannot find a repeat control: The available evidence does not establish your playback software, source type, or version. Look up the repeat behavior for that exact source, or collect its software name and version before following version-specific directions.
- The failure is intermittent or unclear: Record the software name and version, source type, encoder log, and YouTube stream-health status. Those details help distinguish a source reaching its end from an encoder or live-event issue.
