Keep every part of the set in one labeled container, with tiny pieces, minifigure accessories, and spare elements separated in small bags or compartments. Store the instructions with it, and keep the container somewhere dry, away from heat and direct sunlight. That makes the set easier to identify and rebuild later.
What should you keep together?
Use the set’s instruction booklet or LEGO’s digital instructions to check what belongs to the build. Put loose pieces and spare elements in labeled resealable bags or separate compartments inside a container dedicated to that Batman set. Include the minifigures and their accessories, which are easy to misplace when stored separately.

Choose storage that suits the set
LEGO lists clear bins, tool or craft boxes, sandwich bags, drawer systems, and food containers as possible ways to store bricks. There is no single container type or size recommended for every set, so choose one that fits your pieces and storage space.

- Check the closure: Choose a container that closes securely so small pieces cannot spill out.
- Separate small contents: Use inner bags or compartments for accessories, distinctive pieces, and spare elements.
- Make it identifiable: A clear container or a label with the set name or number helps keep it from being mixed into a general brick collection.
- Decide whether to store it built: If you take the model apart, keep the pieces together in the set’s container. If you display it assembled, store the remaining parts, figures, and booklet together in a labeled container.
LEGO also lists minifigure display cases as an option. If you display Batman figures separately, keep their accessories accounted for and note where the figures are stored so they remain associated with the set.

Store bricks away from heat and sunlight
Choose a dry storage spot away from heat sources. LEGO advises against direct sunlight and temperatures above 104°F (40°C), which can make bricks brittle or discolored over time. A closed container can help keep the pieces together, but it does not make an unsuitable hot or sunny location appropriate.

For a rebuild, “complete” means having the parts needed to assemble the models shown in the instructions. In BrickLink’s used-set definition, original packaging and extra pieces are not required; missing instructions must be disclosed. Collectors may choose to retain the box, booklet, sticker sheet, and spare pieces as well, but that is a broader personal standard rather than a requirement in BrickLink’s definition.
