On PS5, highlight The Witcher 3, press the controller’s Options button, choose Check for Update, and follow the prompts if an update is available. CD PROJEKT RED calls its 1 October 2026 release Patch 5.00b; the specific PS5 build string 5.000.200 is reported by a player, not printed in the publisher’s announcement.
Install the update on PS5
- Connect the PS5 to the internet and confirm that the PS5 edition of The Witcher 3 is installed.
- Highlight the game on the home screen or in your game library, press Options, then select Check for Update.
- If the console finds an update, follow the on-screen instructions. Wait for the download and installation to finish before starting the game.
- Launch the game and check any version or build information displayed by the game or console interface. Compare it with the build shown for the installed PS5 title.

What do “5.00b” and “5.000.200” mean?
CD PROJEKT RED’s official announcement names the release Patch 5.00b and says it is live for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and the PC Xbox Play Anywhere version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered. A recent PS5 player report identifies the Remastered build as v5.000.200. The publisher announcement does not include that numeric string, so the connection between the two labels is player-reported rather than confirmed by an official version table. Where to verify the installed game version
Check the version or build information exposed by the game or console interface for the installed PS5 title. The official sources cited here do not establish a specific in-game menu path for finding “5.000.200,” so do not rely on an assumed menu location. Also keep the game build separate from the PS5’s system software version: PlayStation’s console information steps verify the console software, not the installed Witcher game build.

What Patch 5.00b changes
The publisher says the update includes lighting adjustments, including fixes for some interiors that appeared too dark, plus other adjustments intended to ensure parity with the PC version. Its announcement specifies a DLSS fix for the PC Xbox Play Anywhere version; it is not a PS5 change. The update announcement covers PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC Xbox Play Anywhere, not every platform or edition.
If the update does not appear or installation fails
- Test the PS5’s internet connection.
- Restart the console, then try Check for Update again.
- Make sure the PS5 system software is up to date.
- If needed, reinstall the game.
- As a further troubleshooting step, use Safe Mode’s Clear Cache and Rebuild Database option.
