Samsung India, for example, lists a 12.0 kg model, WW12DG6B24AS, with user manual DC68-04532A-03; that is an example, not a universal setup guide. Find your full model code on the appliance label and use the matching manual before starting (Samsung India model support).
Before you begin: confirm the model and installation site
Download the user manual for the full model code and the country where the washer will be used. Samsung’s instructions and specifications can vary between models and markets, so treat the matching manual as the authority for installation clearances, bolt count and location, power, drain arrangement, and any calibration procedure.

Choose a firm, level, dry location with adequate airflow. Keep the washer away from freezing temperatures, direct sunlight, and heat sources. Check the manual for required clearances and any local plumbing or electrical requirements before moving the appliance into place.
Gather compatible supplies
- The supplied wrench and plastic bolt-hole covers, if included with your washer.
- New water-supply hoses of the connector type and length specified for your washer and plumbing. Samsung US says to use brand-new hoses when installing a washer; that guidance is regional, so confirm compatibility for your setup (Samsung US installation guidance).
- A level, if needed to check the cabinet.
- If the washer will be installed above the ground floor, check whether the manual or local requirements call for a drain pan. Samsung US says a pan is required for above-ground-floor installations and recommends a low-profile pan for front-loaders. Verify the pan’s dimensions and preserve access to the pump filter.
Remove the shipping bolts before using the washer
On a front-loader, remove every shipping bolt from the back of the washer before the first wash. Samsung’s US support instruction is explicit: “Before using your front load washing machine, you must remove the shipping bolts from the back.” Use the supplied wrench, remove the bolts and spacers as directed in the manual, and fit the supplied plastic covers in the openings. The number and exact placement vary by model. Leaving transit hardware installed can cause severe vibration and damage.

Keep the bolts and spacers together in a safe place. They are needed to secure the drum if the washer is moved later. Do not guess which hardware to remove; consult the model manual if the rear layout differs from its illustrations (Samsung US installation guidance).
Connect the water-supply hoses
Check that each hose is compatible with the washer’s inlet and the household supply, and make sure the rubber gaskets are present. Samsung US recommends new hoses and says to hand-tighten connections until snug, then tighten a further two-thirds of a turn with a wrench. Its US instructions also warn against over-tightening and against using tape or sealant. Follow your model’s manual if it gives different instructions.

- With the water supplies off, connect each hose to the correct washer inlet. For models with hot and cold inlets, match the hot and cold lines to the labels.
- Secure the other ends to the corresponding supply valves, following the manual’s connector and tightening directions.
- If instructed for your setup, flush the hoses into a bucket before connecting them. Samsung US specifies flushing for 10–15 seconds; this is US guidance, not a universal requirement.
- Turn on the water supplies and inspect every connection for drips or leaks. Correct leaks before operating the washer.

Route the drain hose without kinks or an airtight connection
Use the receiving point approved by your model’s manual and local plumbing rules. Support the hose with its guide and secure it so it cannot fall out, kink, or be crushed. Incorrect routing can contribute to drainage errors, leaks, odors, or siphoning.

Level the washer and check the feet
Adjust the feet until they all touch the floor and the cabinet does not rock. Check the washer with a level, then tighten the clamp nuts if your model uses them. Samsung Australia advises against forcing the washer into position because doing so can damage the feet. Before proceeding, make sure no foot is pressing on the power cord (Samsung Australia leveling guidance).

Connect power and run a test cycle
Follow the model manual for voltage, outlet, grounding, and circuit requirements. Do not transfer electrical values from one country’s instructions to another. If the specified supply or outlet is unavailable, have the installation assessed by a qualified electrician rather than using an improvised adapter or extension arrangement.

Once hoses, drain, and feet are set, run the test specified in the manual and watch the appliance through filling, spinning, and draining. Samsung US gives an empty Rinse + Spin cycle without detergent or cleaner as an example. Check for leaks, abnormal movement, and displayed error codes. Stop and resolve any problem before washing a load (Samsung US installation guidance).

Calibrate only if your model requires it
Calibration is not available or required on every Samsung washer, and the button sequence can vary. Check the model manual before starting a calibration procedure. One Samsung US support example uses an empty drum: hold Temp. and Delay End for three seconds, then press Start/Pause. Do not use that sequence unless the controls and instructions match your washer (Samsung US installation guidance).

If the new washer shakes, leaks, or will not drain
- Excessive shaking: Confirm that all shipping bolts and spacers were removed, the washer is level, and every foot is firmly seated. Check the manual for any remaining setup requirements.
- Water at a hose connection: Turn off the supply, check the gasket and connector fit, then reconnect according to the manual. Do not run a cycle until the connection is dry and secure.
- Drainage problem or odor: Check the hose route, height, insertion depth, support, and kinks against the model manual. Make sure the standpipe is not sealed airtight where the manual requires an open connection.
- Error code or failed test: Record the displayed code and consult the troubleshooting section for the exact model. Avoid repeated cycles until the issue is understood.
