What affects OpenRun Pro 2 battery life?
Shokz says actual runtime depends on listening volume, audio source, environmental interference, product features, usage habits, and other factors. Its published maximum comes from a controlled test: 25±2°C, WAV-encoded audio at 75% volume, and default feature settings. Everyday results can differ from those conditions. Lower the volume when practical
Volume is one factor Shokz explicitly identifies as affecting runtime, so listening at a lower comfortable level is a reasonable adjustment. Shokz does not quantify how much extra time a volume change provides, so there is no reliable number of added hours to promise.

Do not assume an app or EQ change saves power
The official information reviewed does not establish that a particular EQ preset, firmware update, or app setting extends playback time. The Shokz App can show battery status, which helps you monitor remaining charge but is not itself a demonstrated battery-saving feature. See Shokz’s OpenRun Pro2 support page.

Charge it safely and correctly
The OpenRun Pro 2 charges through USB-C, and Shokz lists a full charge as taking about one hour. The package includes a USB-C charging cable. For charging, Shokz recommends a DC 5V charger, specifically 5V/1A, and warns against output above 15V. Follow the product guidance rather than choosing a charger based on a higher output rating. Keep the USB-C port dry
Check that the charging port is dry before plugging in the cable. Shokz advises against charging immediately after exercise if sweat may remain in the port; wait until it is dry. According to Shokz’s charging FAQ, the LED is red while charging and changes from red to blue when charging is complete.

If the headphones do not last as long as expected
- Check the remaining charge. Use the Shokz App to view battery status; this helps distinguish a low starting charge from unexpectedly short runtime.
- Review your listening setup. Consider whether the volume, audio source, interference, features, or usage habits differ from Shokz’s test conditions. Lower the volume if comfortable.
- Charge with the recommended setup. Use the supplied USB-C cable or another suitable cable with a DC 5V charger, following Shokz’s 5V/1A recommendation. Ensure the port is dry first.
- Contact Shokz if the issue persists. If runtime remains substantially below your expectations after these checks, consult official Shokz support. The available product and support information does not establish a diagnostic threshold, battery-replacement procedure, or repair remedy.
