To host OccultCraft for Minecraft 1.19.2, use the OccultCraft 5.7 release, Forge 43.2.8, and the matching OC 5.7 | Server Pack. Install Java, extract the server pack into a clean Forge server directory, accept Minecraft’s EULA, allocate at least 6 GB of memory, and make sure every player uses the same Minecraft, Forge, mod, and configuration versions.

For a Minecraft 1.19.2 dedicated server, anchor the installation on OccultCraft 5.7. Its release information lists Minecraft 1.19.2 as a supported version and identifies Forge as the mod loader. The same release notes state that it was updated to Forge 43.2.8 and that the mods were updated to their respective latest versions for that release.

CurseForge’s file index lists the server-pack archive at 702.4 MB. That is release metadata rather than a permanent storage requirement; the displayed size can change if the file listing is revised. Leave additional disk space for the world, player data, logs, backups, and future updates.
Do not combine the 5.7 server pack with another OccultCraft edition, a different Minecraft patch, or a different Forge build. Modded Minecraft commonly fails when one side has a different mod list or loader version, even when the differences appear minor.
Host requirements before installation
Java runtime
Java is required to run Minecraft modpacks. Install a supported Java runtime on the machine that will run the server before launching the Forge installer or server files. The exact Java distribution and command-line path depend on the operating system and the host’s current Java installation; verify that the Java executable you intend to use is the one available to the Forge launch files.
Memory
The OccultCraft project owner recommends at least 6 GB of RAM for a server with the pack installed. Treat that as a starting allocation, not a guaranteed performance target. The practical requirement changes with the number of players, view and simulation distances, world-generation activity, other software running on the machine, and the particular mods being used.
Leave memory for the operating system and other services. Giving the Java process every available gigabyte can make the host less stable and can cause swapping instead of improving tick performance. Begin with the project’s recommendation, observe actual usage and server behavior, and adjust only when the host has sufficient headroom.
Storage and network
Use a clean directory on fast, reliable storage. The archive itself is hundreds of megabytes, and the generated world can grow substantially as players explore. Reserve room for at least one current backup and several dated backups if the world matters.

A wired connection is preferable for a home server. You will also need to allow the Minecraft server through the host firewall and, for players outside your local network, forward the server port from the router to the host. The port number, public address, and router interface are not specified by OccultCraft and vary by your Minecraft configuration and network provider.
Download and prepare the matching files
- Choose OccultCraft 5.7. Confirm that the file page identifies Minecraft 1.19.2 and Forge, rather than selecting a newer or older OccultCraft release by accident.
- Download the client distribution. Each player needs the same release for their Minecraft launcher profile.
- Download “OC 5.7 | Server Pack.” This is the dedicated server distribution, not merely a copy of a player’s instance folder.
- Create a new server directory. Use a short path you can back up easily, such as a dedicated folder on the server drive. Do not install over an unrelated Forge or vanilla world.
- Keep the archive intact until the directory is ready. If the download is interrupted or its size is unexpectedly different from the file listing, download it again rather than trying to repair a partial archive.
The client and server do not need to use the same folder, but they do need to represent the same OccultCraft release. Keep a copy of the downloaded archive and note the release number in your own maintenance records.
Install Forge 43.2.8 and the server pack
1. Install the Forge server files
Use the Forge installer for the version named by OccultCraft 5.7: 43.2.8. Choose the server-install option and point it at the clean server directory. The installer generates the launch files and supporting libraries needed by the dedicated server.
Do not substitute a Forge build simply because it is newer. The release notes specifically identify 43.2.8, so that is the version to use when reproducing the 5.7 environment.
2. Extract the server pack
Extract the complete OC 5.7 | Server Pack archive into the server directory. Allow its supplied mods, configuration files, scripts, and other files to be placed where the pack expects them. If your archive tool creates an extra nested folder, inspect the result before starting: the Forge launch files and the pack’s folders should be reachable from the directory you selected as the server root.
Do not delete configuration files merely because they are unfamiliar. Modpacks often depend on configuration values that are not present in a blank Forge installation.

3. Start the server once
Use the launch file generated by the Forge installer for your operating system. Forge’s output can differ between operating systems and installer revisions, so there is no single universal OccultCraft command to copy here. Run the generated file from the server directory rather than double-clicking an unrelated Java archive.
The first launch normally creates runtime files and stops or pauses when Minecraft presents the EULA requirement. Read the EULA and accept it only if you agree to Mojang’s terms. After the EULA file has been accepted according to those terms, start the generated Forge launcher again.

Watch the console for the complete mod-loading phase. A successful first run should create a world directory, server configuration files, logs, and the other runtime data expected by a dedicated Forge server. Stop the server through its console command or generated control rather than closing the terminal abruptly; a clean stop reduces the chance of world corruption.
Configure the world and access controls
After the first successful launch, stop the server cleanly before changing settings. Open server.properties in a plain-text editor and review the options that control your world and player access.
World identity and gameplay
- Set the world name before generating a new world if you want a recognizable directory and save name.
- Review difficulty, game mode, player-versus-player behavior, and the view and simulation distances for your group.
- Choose a seed only if you have a specific reason to do so. Changing the seed after world generation does not transform an existing world.
Pack-specific quests and progression may assume the supplied configuration. Change one setting at a time and keep a backup so you can identify which change caused a problem.
Who can join
Use the server’s whitelist or equivalent access controls when the world is intended for friends rather than the public. Add players by their exact in-game names, test that an approved account can connect, and keep administrative privileges limited to people who need them.

Backups
Create a backup while the server is stopped, or use a backup method that is explicitly safe for a running Minecraft world. Include the world directory, server properties, pack configuration, and any scripts you have changed. Store at least one copy outside the live server directory so a disk failure or mistaken deletion does not remove both the world and its backup.
Make the server reachable
- Test locally first. Connect from the same network using the host’s local address. This separates Minecraft configuration problems from router and internet problems.
- Allow the process through the firewall. Permit the Java or Forge server process and the configured Minecraft port on the host operating system.
- Forward the configured port if needed. On a home network, create a router rule that sends incoming traffic on the server port to the host’s local address. Give the host a stable local address so the rule does not break after a DHCP change.
- Share the correct address. Players outside your network need the public address or a DNS name that points to it, plus the port if it is not the default for your setup. Never publish administrative credentials with the connection details.
- Retest after every network change. Ask a player on a different network to connect. A successful local test does not prove that port forwarding or the internet-facing firewall is correct.
Some internet providers use carrier-grade NAT, which prevents ordinary inbound forwarding. In that case, a managed host or a network solution that supplies an externally reachable address may be necessary; changing Minecraft settings alone will not overcome that limitation.
Set up every player’s client
Each player should create a launcher profile for Minecraft 1.19.2, install the OccultCraft 5.7 client files, and select the Forge loader associated with that release. The client’s Forge version must match the server’s Forge 43.2.8 installation.

Players should not add, remove, or update individual mods unless the server administrator has deliberately changed the server pack and distributed the same change to everyone. Configuration files can affect registration and gameplay, so copy the matching configuration supplied with the release rather than mixing files from another pack version.
When a player connects, they should use the server address supplied by the administrator. If the launcher reports a missing mod, an incompatible mod list, or a registry mismatch, record the exact error before changing files. Randomly replacing jars often creates a second mismatch and makes diagnosis harder.

Self-hosting gives you direct access to the Forge directory, world files, logs, backups, and network settings. A managed host trades some low-level control for an administration panel, data-center connectivity, and support that may simplify operation. The right choice depends on whether you want to maintain the machine and network yourself.

No independent player-capacity study or universal performance benchmark is available for OccultCraft. Estimate capacity from the machine’s actual tick behavior, memory use, storage speed, and the way your players explore and generate chunks.
Troubleshoot the common failure points
The server stops immediately
- Confirm that Java is installed and that the Forge launch file is using that Java installation.
- Check whether the EULA file was created and accepted according to Mojang’s terms.
- Read the first meaningful error in the console or latest log rather than the final shutdown line.
- Verify that the server pack was extracted into the actual server root and that its files were not left inside an extra nested directory.
Forge or mod version mismatch
Compare the server’s Forge version with the client profile and confirm that both are on OccultCraft 5.7 for Minecraft 1.19.2. A client copied from another OccultCraft edition can contain a different mod list even if it launches successfully by itself. Restore the matching client files instead of replacing one jar at a time.
Missing or altered configuration
Re-extract the original server pack into a fresh directory and compare its configuration with the failing installation. Keep your world backup separate, then migrate only the settings you intentionally changed. This approach distinguishes a damaged installation from a deliberately customized server.
Players cannot connect
- Test from the host’s local network first.
- Check the host firewall and router forwarding rule.
- Confirm that the forwarded rule points to the host’s current local address.
- Check whether the internet connection uses carrier-grade NAT.
- Verify that the player is using the correct public address and port.
Lag or memory pressure
Check the console and operating-system monitor while players are online. Reduce unnecessary view or simulation distance, avoid generating large unexplored areas with many players simultaneously, and close unrelated applications. If the Java process repeatedly reaches its allocation or the host begins swapping, move to a machine with more available memory rather than treating a larger allocation as a substitute for physical headroom.
World corruption or rollback
Stop the server cleanly, preserve the current world directory for diagnosis, and restore the most recent known-good backup to a separate test directory first. Never overwrite your only copy while experimenting with a recovery.
Updating without breaking the world
- Record the current OccultCraft release, Minecraft version, Forge version, configuration changes, and backup date.
- Stop the server and make a verified backup of the world and server files.
- Read the target release notes and confirm that its client and server distributions are intended to work together.
- Test the new files in a separate directory with a copy of the world.
- Have every player update to the same release before switching the live server.
- Keep the previous server directory until the new installation has been used successfully and another backup exists.
Do not update individual mods independently inside a curated pack unless the pack maintainer’s instructions explicitly call for it. A mod that works alone can still conflict with the pack’s loader, dependencies, recipes, world data, or configuration.
Practical launch checklist
- OccultCraft 5.7 selected for Minecraft 1.19.2.
- Forge 43.2.8 installed on the server and selected by every client.
- Matching OC 5.7 | Server Pack extracted into a clean server directory.
- Supported Java runtime installed and used by the Forge launch files.
- EULA reviewed and accepted before normal operation.
- At least the project owner’s recommended memory allocation available, with headroom for the operating system.
- World settings, whitelist, firewall, and router rules reviewed.
- A tested backup created before inviting players.
- Every player running the same release, loader, mods, and configurations.
Bottom line
The dependable path is to treat OccultCraft 5.7 as one complete, version-locked environment: Minecraft 1.19.2, Forge 43.2.8, the matching server pack, and identical client files. Install Java, let Forge generate its launch files, extract the server distribution without rearranging its contents, accept the EULA, and start with the project’s recommended memory allocation. Test locally, secure the server, back up the world, and only then open access to friends or move the installation to a managed host.
