Host The Kingdom of Daldar on a dedicated Minecraft 1.16.5 Forge server. The reliable method is to install the matching Forge server, build the server files from the pack’s Modrinth .mrpack, omit client-only mods, copy the required overrides, accept the EULA, and allocate roughly 6–8 GB of RAM. The Modrinth listing identifies both client and server support, so you can self-host; one-click installations from several game-server providers are an easier alternative.

Confirm the exact Daldar pack and version first
Version matching is the most important part of a modded server. The Modrinth listing examined for this guide identifies The Kingdom of Daldar version 1.1.1 as a Forge pack for Minecraft 1.16.5, with both client and server support. Version numbers and available files can change, so open the pack’s Modrinth Versions tab immediately before downloading and have every player install the same release.

The archive is a package definition, not a folder containing every mod binary. It includes an index and download references, so your setup process must retrieve the server-side files listed there.
Do not mix the Modrinth and Technic editions
A Technic listing also exists under a similar name and is described as a different version of the pack. Do not combine its files, loader settings, or instructions with the Modrinth release. Choose one distribution and keep the client, server, Minecraft version, Forge build, and pack version on that same distribution.

Daldar Redux is a separate pack
Daldar Redux is not an alternate server profile for the original pack. It contains mods that cannot run on a server and has a special world-generation requirement: set level-type=terraforged in server.properties before the first world is generated. The steps below are for the original Modrinth The Kingdom of Daldar pack; applying them to Redux can produce a broken or incorrectly generated world.
Choose self-hosting or a managed host
Self-hosting gives you control over files, updates, backups, and configuration, but you are responsible for Java, Forge, networking, security, and uptime. A managed host handles the machine and usually exposes a control-panel installer, at the cost of a recurring fee and less low-level control.

Providers that list one-click Daldar installations include BisectHosting, Zap-Hosting, Mado Hosting, Ouiheberg, ScaleCube, and StickyPiston. Their catalogs can show different pack versions and prices at different times. Select the exact Modrinth release you want rather than assuming a listing is current.
Hardware and memory planning
No official RAM requirement from the pack’s authors is established. Hosting pages commonly suggest approximately 6 GB as a minimum, 7 GB or more when friends join, and 8 GB for a safer margin. Treat those as host recommendations, not a published specification.

CPU speed and storage also affect chunk generation and save times. Use fast local storage and a processor with several strong threads where possible. Avoid placing the world on a nearly full disk, and reserve memory for the operating system instead of assigning every gigabyte to Java.
Self-host setup from the Modrinth package
The following workflow keeps the server aligned with the pack metadata. Perform it on a new, empty server directory so unrelated mods or configuration files cannot be mistaken for Daldar files.

1. Download one Modrinth release
- Open the pack’s Modrinth page and select the exact version you intend to run.
- Download its
.mrpackfile and keep the version number in your notes. - Have every player install that same pack version through their launcher.
2. Read the pack index
- An
.mrpackis a ZIP archive. Make a copy, then rename the copy’s extension from.mrpackto.zipso your archive utility can open it. - Open
modrinth.index.json. - Record the Minecraft version and the Forge version listed in the index. For the release described here, the target is Minecraft 1.16.5 on Forge, but use the values in your chosen index if they differ.
The index is authoritative for that release. Do not substitute a newer Forge build simply because it is available; first confirm that the pack supports it.
3. Separate client-only files from server files
Inspect the file entries in the index and skip entries marked as client-only. A dedicated server does not need client-only visual, menu, or input mods. Installing them can cause startup errors or unnecessary resource use. Keep every server-side mod named by the index, including dependencies.
4. Download the referenced mod files
The package normally contains links and hashes rather than the actual mod JARs. Use the references in the index to download each server-side file into a temporary staging folder, then copy the resulting JARs into the server’s mods/ directory. Preserve the filenames unless a mod’s own instructions require otherwise.
5. Apply overrides
- Copy the contents of the package’s
overrides/folder into the server directory, merging folders rather than replacing the entire directory blindly. - If the package contains
server-overrides/, copy its contents into the server directory as well. - When prompted about an existing file, compare it with the pack version and keep a backup before replacing custom settings.
Overrides commonly carry configuration, scripts, datapacks, or default settings that make the pack behave as intended. Omitting them can leave a server that starts but does not match the client experience.

Download the Forge installer for the Minecraft and Forge versions recorded in modrinth.index.json. Run the installer’s server installation option and choose the same empty server directory. The exact installer interface and launch files can change, so follow the options shown by the installer for your selected Forge build rather than copying a command intended for another version.

Do not place the Forge server in a directory that still contains files from another modpack. A clean directory makes loader and classpath errors much easier to diagnose.
7. Start once and accept the EULA
- Start the Forge server using the launch file generated by the installer.
- The first launch normally stops while creating basic files and writes
eula.txt. - Open
eula.txt, read Mojang’s terms, and change only the agreement value totrueif you accept them. - Start the server again and wait for the console to report that it has finished loading.
Stop the server from its console with the proper stop command; do not terminate the process or unplug the machine while the world is saving.
8. Check the generated configuration
Open server.properties and set the options appropriate for your group. Keep the same level name and gameplay settings across backups. For the original Daldar pack, no special level type is required by the information available here. The level-type=terraforged instruction belongs to Daldar Redux and should not be copied into an original-pack setup unless that pack’s own documentation specifically requires it.

For a lag-prone server, reduce view-distance to 8 as a first test. Lowering it reduces how many chunks each player asks the server to keep active, at the cost of a shorter visible horizon.
9. Make the server reachable
If everyone plays on the same local network, connect using the host computer’s local address. For players elsewhere, allow the server application through the operating system firewall and forward the port specified by server-port on your router to the host computer. Give friends the public address and that port, and never expose administrative panel passwords or file-sharing services.

Test from outside your home network, such as through a mobile connection. A successful local connection does not prove that router forwarding or the firewall is correct.
10. Test with one player before inviting everyone
- Join with a client running the identical Minecraft, Forge, and Daldar versions.
- Walk through several areas, open inventories, and watch the server console for repeated warnings.
- Stop the server cleanly, confirm that the world and configuration files were saved, and make the first backup.
Updating without breaking the world
When a new Daldar release appears, treat it as a controlled migration rather than a file drag-and-drop.
- Announce downtime and stop the server cleanly.
- Copy the entire world folder,
mods/, configuration folders,server.properties, and the current logs to a dated backup location. - Download the new Modrinth release and read its
modrinth.index.jsonfor its required Minecraft and Forge versions. - Build a separate test directory with the new server files and overrides.
- Start the test server and inspect the log for missing dependencies, mixin failures, or world-conversion messages.
- Only after the test succeeds, schedule the production update. Keep the old server directory until players have confirmed that the new world works.
Never update only the client or only the server. A pack-version mismatch can look like a network problem even when the network is functioning normally.
Diagnose common startup and performance problems
OutOfMemoryError in latest.log
Increase the Java heap to at least 8 GB if the machine can spare it, then retest while watching memory use. Do not allocate all physical RAM: the operating system, Forge, file cache, and other services still need headroom. If the error returns, reduce view distance, remove unneeded server-side extras, and check whether a particular dimension or mod triggers the spike.
Mixin or ClassNotFoundException errors
These usually indicate that the loader, Minecraft version, pack release, or mod set does not match. Recheck the values in modrinth.index.json, reinstall the matching Forge server in a clean directory, and verify that every required server-side JAR was downloaded. Remove client-only entries that were copied accidentally.
Persistent tick lag
- Set
view-distance=8temporarily and ask players whether the delay improves. - Pre-generate the intended play area with the Chunky mod so exploration does not force constant new chunk generation.
- Run the
/sparkprofiler while the lag is occurring and inspect which mod, dimension, or task consumes the server thread. - Use the result to change one setting at a time, then profile again.
Pre-generation increases disk usage and can take a long time, so perform it before opening the server to players and keep a backup.

Confirm that the client and server use the same Daldar release, Minecraft 1.16.5, and Forge build. Then check the firewall, router forwarding, server address, and the port value in server.properties. A server that is visible locally but not externally usually has a routing or firewall issue rather than a mod issue.
The world behaves differently from the client pack
Recheck the overrides/ and optional server-overrides/ contents. Missing configuration or datapack files can change recipes, generation, or progression even when all JARs are present.
Operational checklist for a dependable server
- Record the exact Daldar, Minecraft, and Forge versions in a text file beside the server.
- Back up the world before every mod or configuration change.
- Keep at least one backup off the host machine so disk failure cannot destroy every copy.
- Schedule restarts during quiet hours if logs or memory usage grow over long sessions.
- Use a whitelist when the server is private and grant operator permissions only to trusted accounts.
- Read
latest.logafter each update instead of waiting for players to report a failure. - Do not upload
eula.txt, account credentials, or private server addresses to public file-sharing sites.
When a one-click host is the better choice
Choose managed hosting when you do not want to configure Forge, expose a home network, or maintain a machine continuously. In the provider panel, search for The Kingdom of Daldar, select the listed pack version, choose a memory allocation that meets the guidance above, and click the installation action. After installation, verify the panel’s Minecraft and Forge versions against the Modrinth release your players installed.
Because provider catalogs change, an apparently convenient listing can lag behind Modrinth or offer only a different edition. If the panel does not show the required release, ask support whether a custom Forge installation is allowed or use the self-host workflow instead. Export periodic world backups even when the provider advertises automated backups; retention limits differ.
Final decision
For maximum control, self-host the Modrinth package in a clean Forge 1.16.5 directory, install only its server-side files, apply both override folders when present, and begin with about 8 GB of RAM. For minimum setup work, use a managed provider’s one-click installer but verify the exact pack version before players connect. Keep Daldar Redux and the Technic edition separate from this workflow, because their files and server requirements are not interchangeable.
