Some Walmart product pages show this option, and a seller response on one listing describes an email when the item returns. That establishes examples of item-level alerts, not a universal Walmart alert system. A listing may have no alert control at all.
Turn on Walmart app notifications for general updates
If the item page has no alert option, you can enable Walmart’s general marketing and product-feedback push notifications. These may include broad updates such as trends, new arrivals and deals; Walmart does not document them as guaranteed alerts for a particular out-of-stock product.

Both the Walmart app toggle and your phone’s notification permission need to be enabled for app pushes to reach you. Labels can vary by device and operating-system version.
Check store and fulfillment availability
For pickup or local inventory, select the relevant ZIP code or store, then check the item’s availability for the fulfillment option you intend to use. Another nearby store may have stock when your selected store does not. Walmart notes that popular products can sell out quickly or be unavailable in some locations.

Inventory can also change between viewing an item and order processing. An alert is not a reservation or a guarantee that checkout will succeed.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What about Walmart text and email alerts?
Walmart’s U.S. text-message programs cover matters such as order status, pickup and service updates, pharmacy and health messages, account communications and promotions. The terms do not establish these programs as universal item-specific restock alerts, and messages may be delayed or undelivered.

Use a page monitor only if the listing has no alert
A third-party webpage monitor such as Visualping can watch a Walmart product page for a change in its stock status. This is a workaround, not a Walmart feature: it detects a page change, does not reserve the product, and cannot guarantee the item will still be available when you reach checkout. Check the service’s monitoring options and cadence before relying on it.
Or skip the browser setup
ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API; it can capture a page, but it is not a Walmart restock-alert service and does not monitor a listing or notify you when stock returns. If you need a screenshot of the listing, its one-request API example is:
Quick Recap
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://www.walmart.com/ -o shot.webpSee the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options. Its clean-shot features remove cookie banners, popups and chat widgets before capture; bot checks, blank pages and failed loads are never billed; an MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots; and 1,000 screenshots per month are free with no card, with paid plans starting at $5 for 3,000.
