To get Siri AI, you need an eligible Apple device running the required current operating system, a supported language set for both your device and Siri, and access in your region. Then open Settings > Siri > Try Siri AI (Beta) and follow the setup prompts. Enrollment goes onto a waitlist, so the feature may not download immediately.
Check whether your device is eligible
Siri AI eligibility depends on the exact device model and operating-system version—not simply whether your device can install the newest OS. Apple’s current requirements are:

For the latest model list, check Apple’s Siri AI setup and eligibility page before updating or buying a device. Apple says Apple Intelligence may require up to 8 GB of storage on many eligible devices, up to 14 GB on certain higher-tier models, and up to 1.5 GB on Apple Watch. Check language and regional availability
Apple currently documents Siri AI in English. Set the device language and Siri language to the same supported language; a mismatch can prevent the beta option from appearing. Siri AI availability also varies by platform and region.

- Mainland China account region: Apple says Siri AI will not currently work.
- Travel: Once enabled, Siri AI continues to work when you travel to other regions.
Apple announced in September 2026 that French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish support was coming the following month. That announcement is a forecast, not confirmation that those languages have launched. Check Apple’s live availability information for the supported language list.
Enroll in Siri AI
- Update your device. Install the required operating-system version for your eligible model.
- Match the languages. Set the device language and Siri language to the same supported language.
- Open Siri settings. Go to Settings > Siri. If Siri is off, turn it on first.
- Choose the beta option. Tap Try Siri AI (Beta), then follow the onscreen prompts to choose a voice, complete voice enrollment, and review privacy settings.
- Wait for access and download. Apple adds you to a waitlist; wait times vary. Siri AI downloads automatically when your place in the waitlist is reached.
Apple’s setup instructions are at support.apple.com. Enrollment does not guarantee immediate access, and Apple does not publish a fixed wait time.

If “Try Siri AI (Beta)” is missing
Check these conditions in order before attempting a workaround:

Compare it with Apple’s current supported-device list. A device that can run the latest OS may still be ineligible.
- Confirm the OS version. Verify that the device is running the required iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, or visionOS version for its model.
- Match device and Siri languages. Both must be set to the same language currently supported for Siri AI.
- Check platform and account region. EU restrictions differ by platform, and an Apple Account set to mainland China currently prevents Siri AI from working.
- Allow for enrollment or download. If you already enrolled, the waitlist may still be pending; after access is granted, the download happens automatically.
Apple’s published setup guidance does not validate methods for bypassing device eligibility. Use its support page as the authority for current requirements rather than relying on claims that an unsupported device can be made compatible.

What Siri AI adds after setup
Apple describes Siri AI as able to use personal context across messages, email, photos, calendar, notes, and reminders; respond to questions about onscreen content; take actions in apps; answer broader web questions; and assist with writing and editing. Apple also describes a dedicated Siri app with conversation history synced across devices through iCloud, plus Visual Intelligence interactions using a camera, screenshot, keyboard shortcut, or Vision Pro surroundings, depending on platform.
Features vary by operating system, hardware, language, and region. Apple says expressive voices and more advanced dictation depend on its AFM Core Advanced on-device model and higher-tier hardware, so the experience is not identical on every eligible device. Siri AI is a software feature; setup does not require a separate accessory or paid setup item.
