They do not necessarily mean the service will notify you when a previously announced release date is edited. Steam: launch alerts, with account and delivery conditions
Valve says: “When your game releases, either in Early Access or as Full Release, any user that has the game on their wishlist at that time will receive an e-mail and/or mobile push notification about the game being available.” Steamworks Documentation. This describes availability on release, not a notification when an announced date changes. Verify your email, check Steam email preferences, and enable mobile notifications if you want push alerts. The documented email cooldown can also affect when another wishlist email arrives.

Epic Games Store: availability and sale emails
Epic’s wishlist email option covers a wishlisted game going on sale or becoming available for purchase or pre-purchase. It does not amount to a documented promise to email you when the game’s announced date changes. Epic Games help.
Xbox: a documented pre-order-to-release alert
Xbox documents a wishlist notification when a game changes from pre-order status to released. That can help you catch the release event, but it does not establish an alert when the expected date is revised. Configure the notification preferences on the Xbox service or app you use. PlayStation: enable Wishlist Updates, but check announcements for date moves
PS5 includes a Wishlist Updates category, and PlayStation describes wishlist notifications for events such as discounts and PlayStation Plus catalog additions. The available official wording does not specifically guarantee an alert for every announced-date change. The official information available here does not establish whether Nintendo notifies wishlist users when an announced date changes. Set up a reliable date-monitoring routine
- Add the game to each relevant storefront wishlist. Wishlist alerts are tied to the storefront account, so add it wherever you may buy or play it.
- Enable the available notification channels. On Steam, check email verification, email preferences, and mobile notification settings. On Epic, enable “Receive email notifications about my wishlist” in Wishlist. On Xbox, review wishlist notification preferences. On PS5, enable Wishlist Updates and check PlayStation App push settings. Steam, Epic, Xbox, PlayStation.
- Follow the official developer and publisher channels. Use their announcements for date revisions, and check the store page again when a particular date matters.
- If you have already pre-ordered, monitor the order page and official communications. Do not assume a wishlist alert also covers an existing order’s revised date.
If an expected notification never arrives
- Confirm that the game is still on the wishlist for the account and storefront you use.
- Check that the relevant wishlist email or push option is enabled, and that app or console notification permissions allow delivery.
- For Steam email, confirm the address is verified and account preferences have not disabled the messages; allow for the documented cooldown between wishlist emails.
- Check what event the platform actually promises to notify about. A date edit may not be a supported trigger even if release or purchase availability is.
- For a date change or an existing pre-order, check the game page and official publisher or developer updates directly.
