Which M18 battery lasts longer?
Among the capacities cited here, Milwaukee lists the XC5.0 at 5.0Ah and the FORGE HD12.0 at 12Ah. The higher amp-hour rating indicates greater capacity, but it does not translate into a fixed runtime across different tools or tasks. A heavier workload can consume energy faster, and pack size and compatibility matter too.

How should I store and charge M18 batteries?
Store packs appropriately
When a pack is idle, Milwaukee recommends storing it at room temperature and away from moisture. Follow the operating, charging and storage directions in the manual for your specific pack. Milwaukee’s battery manual provides pack-specific guidance.
Use a compatible charger to reduce downtime

How can I plan battery swaps?
Use the pack’s fuel gauge as an approximate remaining-charge indicator, not a precise estimate of minutes left. Check it during natural pauses in the work and swap packs before an interruption would be costly. How much charge remains when the gauge changes depends on the pack and conditions; it is not a task-time forecast.
