How to Get Married in Final Fantasy XIV: Complete Eternal Bonding Ceremony Guide

To marry in Final Fantasy XIV, both partners purchase (or receive) matching promise wristlets through the Mog Station/FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Store, form a two-person party, and complete the quest The Ties that Bind in the East Shroud. After preparing your rings and pilgrimage, you reserve the Ivory Chapel, send invitations, and attend your scheduled two-hour Ceremony of Eternal Bonding block.

Choose a Standard, Gold, or Platinum plan before starting. The plan controls the ceremony’s décor, attire options, effects, mount access, and guest gifts; the registration requirements and core quest are shared.

What the Eternal Bonding ceremony is

The Ceremony of Eternal Bonding is Final Fantasy XIV’s in-game marriage-style event: a formal instance in which two characters pledge lifelong devotion before invited guests. It is a character-social feature rather than a change to combat statistics, housing ownership, or legal status. Your characters remain free to adventure, join companies, and form parties normally after the ceremony.

The event is held at the Ivory Chapel inside the Sanctum of the Twelve in the East Shroud. You and your partner complete a dedicated quest, select a ceremony style and décor, reserve a time block, and distribute invitations. The ceremony plan is purchased outside the game through Mog Station or the official online store, while the quest and event itself take place in-game.

Final Fantasy XIV Online: 60 Day Time Card [Online Game Code]
  • Adventure awaits you beyond the horizon in FINAL FANTASY XIV.
  • This product is a digital 60-Day Game Time Card for FINAL FANTASY XIV Online. It serves as a payment option that allows players to add 60 days of game time to their FFXIV account at the Standard subscription rate, subject to account limits. Both the game and game time are required to play.
  • This product can be redeemed on service accounts registered with the Windows, Mac, PlayStation, or Steam versions of FINAL FANTASY XIV Online. However, it cannot be redeemed on service accounts that have only the XBOX or Nintendo Switch 2 versions registered.

Choose a plan before doing anything else

There are three plans: Standard, Gold, and Platinum. Both partners need the promise wristlet associated with the chosen plan. One partner can purchase both wristlets and give one away before it becomes bound to a character.

Plan Ceremony and décor Attire Mount and effects Music, cutscenes and gifts
Standard Baseline Ivory Chapel ceremony and décor package. Core ceremony attire; the additional dyeable options advertised for higher plans are not included. Core ceremony presentation; no higher-plan mount benefit. Baseline selection of ceremony presentation and guest-favor options.
Gold More décor and lighting customization than Standard. Dyeable ceremony attire. Includes a ceremony chocobo mount and additional presentation choices. More music, cutscene, favor, and guest-gift customization than Standard.
Platinum Widest décor and lighting customization. Broadest dyeable-gear coverage, including additional dyeable areas. Most extensive ceremony effects and presentation choices. Additional ceremony selections and guest-gift choices beyond the lower plans.

The official Platinum page has displayed a North American price of $40.00, or $20.00 per person. That figure and regional availability can change, so check the current Mog Station or store listing for your account region before paying. Prices for the other plans are not established here and should likewise be read from the current listing.

Which plan fits which couple?

  • Standard: choose it when you mainly want the quest, chapel ceremony, and a simple gathering.
  • Gold: suits couples who want dyeable attire, a chocobo mount, and a noticeably larger set of décor and presentation options.
  • Platinum: is for couples who want the maximum customization, the broadest dyeable gear, and the largest set of ceremony and guest-gift choices.

Checklist before you register

Both characters must satisfy the following conditions when beginning the quest and registering the ceremony:

Final Fantasy XIV Online Complete Edition (PS4)
  • Access to all expansion content from Heavensward and Stormblood, unlocking additional jobs, areas, story quests and more ways to explore: flying, swimming and diving
  • A flexible class system that allows players to switch freely between a variety of classes and jobs, including new additions red mage and samurai, and reach the new level cap of level 70
  • All the hallmarks of the FINAL FANTASY franchise, including an engaging storyline, genre-leading graphics, and HD real time cut scenes.
  • Robust gameplay features such as player-managed Free Companies, diverse party finder features to group up with other players with ease, and a variety of fun activities in the Gold Saucer area, all designed to accommodate a dynamic player community.
  • Challenging trials, dungeons and raids for groups of up to 24, and exciting player-vs-player (PvP) content for groups of up to 72 players
  • Complete the main-scenario quest The Scions of the Seventh Dawn.
  • Have at least one class at level 50, as required by the original quest documentation.
  • Form a party containing exactly the two partners.
  • Share the same Home World.
  • Be in the East Shroud on that Home World when registering.
  • Have no existing Eternal Bond with another player.
  • Own the correct promise wristlet for the plan. The wristlet may be in your inventory or Armoury chest when starting the quest; it must be equipped for chapel reservation.

Keep the two-person party together for every NPC interaction. If an NPC does not offer the expected dialogue, check the party size, Home World, location, wristlet ownership and equipment, and quest completion on both characters before abandoning anything.

Buy and exchange the promise wristlets

  1. Open Mog Station or the official FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Store and select Standard, Gold, or Platinum.
  2. Complete the purchase for the plan you intend to use. The purchase supplies the corresponding promise wristlet(s) according to the store’s current delivery method.
  3. If one person bought both, trade the unbound wristlet to the other character. Do this before either wristlet becomes bound; a bound item cannot be handed to the partner.
  4. Verify that each character can see a wristlet in inventory or the Armoury chest. Do not equip it until you are ready to begin the quest, because the quest NPC checks for the item.

The wristlets are the in-game proof that the pair selected a plan. Buying a plan without obtaining the matching items, or mixing wristlets from different plans, can prevent registration.

Start The Ties that Bind

The Ties that Bind is the required quest for the Eternal Bonding process. It covers attire, ring preparation, and a pilgrimage before you reserve the chapel.

1. Meet Claribel in the East Shroud

With your partner beside you in a two-person party, go to the Sanctum of the Twelve in the East Shroud. Speak with Claribel while each character has the appropriate promise wristlet available and equipped as requested by the quest. Claribel gives you The Ties that Bind when the shared prerequisites are met.

2. Collect ceremony attire and accessories

Follow the quest objectives to obtain the ceremony attire and accoutrements. Keep the items available rather than discarding or selling them; they are required for later objectives and for the ceremony presentation.

3. Prepare and engrave the rings

The quest directs you to obtain a flawless band and bring it to Jemime at the Goldsmiths’ Guild. Jemime engraves it into a divine band. This ring step is part of the quest rather than an optional crafting project, so both partners should follow their individual objective markers and keep the required band in their inventories.

4. Complete the pilgrimage

Visit the marks of the Twelve listed by the quest, then return the rings as instructed. The pilgrimage is a sequence of required locations; use the active quest log to track the next mark instead of skipping ahead. After the final return, the quest advances to ceremony planning.

Select a ceremony style and décor

Once most of the quest is complete, speak with Raitmeaux in the Ivory Chapel. You choose the ceremony style and the décor available under your purchased plan. The three named styles are:

  • The Lover’s Kiss: presented by a choir moogle.
  • The Spinner’s Hand: presented by the Officiant of the Graces.
  • The Solemn Oath: presented by the Officiant of the Vows.

The style changes the officiant or performance framing; it does not replace the Eternal Bonding quest or the chapel reservation. Gold and Platinum plans expose more décor, lighting, music, effect, and presentation choices while you make these selections.

Reserve the Ivory Chapel

Reservation is a separate step from buying the plan and completing the quest. Both partners must be present and wearing their wristlets.

  1. Return to the Sanctum of the Twelve in the East Shroud on your shared Home World.
  2. Remain in a party containing only the two partners.
  3. Equip the promise wristlet on each character.
  4. Ensure each character has at least one free inventory slot. Etoinelle must be able to deliver reservation-related items.
  5. Speak with Etoinelle and select an available Ivory Chapel time block.

Reservation windows open weekly on Friday. The exact opening window depends on the plan, and reservations are first come, first served. Each booking occupies a two-hour Earth-time block, so select a period when both partners and the important guests can attend. The game’s current reservation interface is the authority for the precise opening time and available dates.

Why a reservation can fail

  • Etoinelle has no reservation option: confirm that both wristlets are equipped, the party has exactly two members, and both characters are in the East Shroud on their Home World.
  • The date or slot disappears: another couple may have claimed a first-come slot. Check the next available block or return when the next weekly window opens.
  • Registration is blocked despite meeting the location requirement: free one inventory slot on each character and speak with Etoinelle again.
  • One partner cannot enter the registration dialogue: check that neither character already has an Eternal Bond and that both have completed the required main-scenario quest.

Create and send invitations

After reserving the chapel, plan the guest list around the two-hour block. Each partner can create and send up to 40 invitations, allowing a maximum of 80 guests in total.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Use the invitation item supplied by the ceremony process to create invitations for your guests.
  2. Distribute invitations directly by trading them or send them through the Moogle Delivery Service.
  3. Tell guests the scheduled date, time and venue, and ask them to keep the invitation until the event.
  4. Keep the blank invitation item. Discarding it prevents the host from entering the chapel as a host, even if the reservation still exists.

Because the limit is per partner, decide which character will invite each person before sending anything. A list of 80 names is a ceiling, not a requirement; fewer guests make it easier to coordinate arrival and seating.

What happens on the ceremony day

  1. Both partners should arrive before the beginning of the reserved block with the invitation and required ceremony items intact.
  2. Enter the Ivory Chapel in the Sanctum of the Twelve when the reservation becomes active. The event takes place inside the chapel rather than in the open East Shroud.
  3. Follow the on-screen ceremony prompts and allow the selected style, décor and effects to play. Guests attend through their invitations.
  4. Complete the Eternal Bonding sequence and remain until the instance confirms the ceremony has ended. Leaving early can prevent you from seeing the full presentation or collecting event-specific rewards.

Gold and Platinum features are presentation upgrades, not separate ceremonies. Every plan uses the Ivory Chapel and the same core Eternal Bonding concept; the higher plans add customization, attire, mounts, effects and guest options.

Plan the event without losing progress

Before purchasing

  • Agree on the shared Home World and confirm both characters can travel to the East Shroud there.
  • Choose the plan based on the desired attire dyeability, décor, mount and guest gifts, not only on the ceremony name.
  • Confirm the current regional price and delivery details in Mog Station.

Before accepting the quest

  • Form the two-person party.
  • Place both wristlets in inventory or the Armoury chest.
  • Verify the main-scenario and level requirements on both characters.

Before reserving

  • Equip both wristlets.
  • Free one inventory slot on each character.
  • Choose a Friday reservation window as soon as it opens if you need a particular date, since slots are first come, first served.

Before sending invitations

  • Keep the blank invitation item.
  • Stay within 40 invitations per partner.
  • Send invitations early enough for recipients to receive them through trade or the Moogle Delivery Service.

Common mistakes and fixes

Symptom Likely cause Fix
Claribel does not offer The Ties that Bind. Missing quest prerequisite, wrong party size, absent wristlet, or an existing Eternal Bond. Check the full prerequisite list on both characters, form a two-person party, and return with the wristlets available.
The ring objective will not advance. The flawless band has not been delivered to Jemime, or the wrong character is speaking to her. Follow each character’s quest log, carry the required flawless band, and speak with Jemime at the Goldsmiths’ Guild.
Etoinelle rejects the reservation. Wristlets are not equipped, the pair is not together on the Home World, or an inventory is full. Equip both wristlets, stand together in the East Shroud, reduce the party to two members, and free one slot for each character.
A host cannot enter after invitations are sent. The blank invitation was discarded. Do not discard that item during preparation; contact official support if the item is already gone, as the game may not provide an in-game replacement path.
A preferred Friday slot is unavailable. Another couple claimed the first-come reservation. Select another available two-hour block or try at the next weekly opening.

Quick answer: the complete order

  1. Select Standard, Gold or Platinum in Mog Station or the official online store.
  2. Obtain matching promise wristlets for both partners, trading one before it binds if necessary.
  3. Form a two-person party and verify the shared Home World, East Shroud location, main-scenario completion, level 50 class requirement and lack of an existing Eternal Bond.
  4. Speak with Claribel to accept The Ties that Bind.
  5. Collect attire, have Jemime engrave the flawless band into a divine band, complete the pilgrimage and return the rings.
  6. Speak with Raitmeaux to select one of the three ceremony styles and available décor.
  7. Equip both wristlets, free an inventory slot for each character, and reserve a Friday-opening Ivory Chapel block with Etoinelle.
  8. Create up to 40 invitations per partner, send them by trade or Moogle Delivery Service, and retain the blank invitation.
  9. Arrive for the scheduled two-hour block and complete the ceremony in the Ivory Chapel.
