Playing a FNAF-themed Fortnite Creative island does not, by itself, unlock a FNAF outfit for your Locker. Epic announced on October 1, 2026, that FNAF outfits were live in the Fortnite Item Shop. Check the live Shop listing to see whether an offer is still available; Epic Support says it cannot grant items that are not currently in the Shop.
How to get FNAF outfits in Fortnite
- Open the official Item Shop. Go to Fortnite’s Item Shop and check its current listings. Epic’s Fortnitemares 2026 announcement, dated October 1, 2026, said FNAF outfits were live in the Shop at that time.
- Purchase an outfit if it is currently offered. Check the listing for its current price and purchase terms. Shop inventory can change, so an announcement or saved list does not guarantee an outfit is available now.
- Equip it from your Locker. After purchase, select the outfit in your Locker. Whether it can appear in a particular island depends on that island’s compatibility and settings.
If the outfit is not listed, Epic Support says it cannot grant or obtain items that are not currently in the Shop. See Epic’s guidance on when items return to the Fortnite Shop.

Can a Creative map unlock a FNAF outfit?
Not simply because the island is FNAF-themed. Epic’s Fortnitemares announcement discusses Shop outfits separately from event content, including FNAF animatronic bosses; it does not say that playing a Creative map awards those outfits. Treat an island as a place to play, not as an outfit unlock, unless Epic or that island’s creator documents a specific reward.

No. Epic says a small portion of outfits and accessories are incompatible with islands below certain rating thresholds. Compatibility indicators appear in the Locker and Item Shop. Check the indicator on the specific outfit and island rather than assuming a Locker item will display everywhere. Epic explains the rules in its Fortnite Cosmetic Compatibility support article.

How island-specific items and features differ
Some island features are controlled by the island’s developer and are not the same as a globally usable Locker outfit. Epic says Sidekicks require the island developer to enable them. It also says in-island entitlements are available only in the island where they were purchased. Those conditions make an island-specific entitlement different in scope from an outfit bought through the Shop.
| Route | Where it comes from | Where it can be used |
|---|---|---|
| Fortnite Locker outfit | Item Shop, when offered | Across experiences where the outfit is compatible; island rating restrictions may apply |
| Island-specific entitlement or feature | That island and its developer’s settings | Only in the island where an entitlement was purchased; Sidekicks require developer support |
If you are making a FNAF-themed island
Epic’s creator guidance says creators may use Epic-owned assets made available in UEFN, but may not use recreated or otherwise obtained Epic-owned assets in an island or its metadata without permission. That rule addresses Epic-owned assets; it does not establish permission to use FNAF characters, artwork, or other material controlled by the franchise’s rights holders. See Epic’s guidance on using Epic-owned assets in an island.
