Search the store on your exact TV for “Facebook” or “Facebook Watch.” If no compatible app appears, you may be able to cast an individual video from a phone or browser—but that does not install Facebook or guarantee access to the full Facebook interface.
Check whether your TV has an official Facebook app
- Identify your TV. Note its brand, model, year, operating system, and region. App availability can vary by model and country; LG says these factors affect which apps are available in its store (LG support, July 22, 2026).
- Open the manufacturer’s app store. On applicable Samsung TVs, check Smart Hub or the TV app store. On applicable LG TVs, open the LG Content Store.
- Search for “Facebook” and “Facebook Watch.” If a result appears, open its details and confirm it is an official listing and supports your exact model and region. Follow the TV’s on-screen installation prompts only if the listing is available for your set.
Historical listings show that Facebook Watch was offered on some televisions, not that it is installable on every smart TV today. Samsung’s US store listing describes a free Facebook Watch app updated October 11, 2022, and says it was available on select 2015-and-newer Samsung Smart TVs (Samsung app listing). Samsung’s 2017 launch announcement said the app could be downloaded through Smart Hub on its 2017 QLED line and that availability would extend to 2015–2017 Smart TV models (Samsung Global Newsroom).

LG announced Facebook Watch availability through the LG Content Store on webOS TVs made from 2014 through 2020 in countries where Facebook Watch was available. That announcement was published December 18, 2020; it does not confirm that the service remains available for those sets now (LG Newsroom).

If the app is listed but will not install
LG’s published troubleshooting checks are useful starting points: sign in to the TV account, confirm the internet connection, check the TV’s country or region setting, and make sure enough storage is available. Menu names and requirements differ by manufacturer, so use your TV maker’s support guidance if these checks do not resolve the problem (LG support, July 22, 2026).

If Facebook is missing from the app store, try casting a video
If you only want to watch a Facebook video, casting may be an option when your current Facebook app or browser, receiving device, and TV support the same casting method. Historically, Meta described opening a video, tapping its TV symbol, and selecting an AirPlay-compatible destination such as Apple TV or a Google Cast-compatible destination such as Chromecast. Those instructions date to October 2016 and are not confirmation of current compatibility (Meta Newsroom).
- Open the video in Facebook on a compatible iOS device or web browser.
- Look for the TV or cast symbol in the video controls.
- Select the compatible TV or receiving device, if it appears, and follow the prompts.
If the cast symbol or your TV does not appear, the current combination may not support casting. Check compatibility information for your phone or browser, receiving device, and TV before buying hardware. A Chromecast or other Google Cast-compatible device is only a possible way to send supported videos to a TV; it does not install Facebook or promise the full Facebook interface.

Why older compatibility lists can be misleading
Facebook Watch once appeared on a wider range of TV platforms. Meta’s August 2018 announcement listed Apple TV, Samsung Smart TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Xbox One, and Oculus TV. That historical list is not a current compatibility guide (Meta Newsroom). The dated Samsung and LG announcements likewise establish past availability only; the app store on your exact TV is the practical place to check what can be installed now.
