If YouTube Live says “no data” while FFmpeg appears to play meditation audio, first read the full health message in YouTube Live Control Room, then check what FFmpeg is actually sending, its codecs and timing, and whether its destination matches YouTube’s configured ingest protocol. Hearing audio locally does not prove YouTube is receiving a valid stream, and “no data” alone does not identify the fault.
What YouTube’s “no data” status means
YouTube’s Live Streaming API defines noData as a state in which its backend “do[es] not have any information about the stream’s health status.” That is a health-state description, not a diagnosis of why your particular stream is missing or unhealthy. Other messages may provide more specific clues, such as a configuration problem or unsupported media. Google’s configuration-issues documentation describes the status.

Diagnose the stream in order
1. Record YouTube’s complete message
Open YouTube Live Control Room for the broadcast and note the full status, warning, or configuration message—not just the words “no data.” Use that message alongside FFmpeg’s logs. A more specific warning can point toward a media or configuration issue; the generic noData state does not settle the cause.
2. Confirm what FFmpeg sends
Inspect FFmpeg’s input/output mapping and relevant log lines. Confirm that the outgoing stream contains the intended audio and, if your setup is meant to be a conventional video live stream, video as well. A file playing on your computer only shows that local playback works; it does not establish that the selected FFmpeg output is reaching YouTube.

If your output contains audio but no video, do not assume that an audio-only RTMP stream is supported. YouTube’s encoder guidance describes video streaming with audio and video codec requirements. Check the full warning and the configured stream before changing the command. YouTube’s encoder settings guidance lists supported settings.
3. Compare codecs and encoder timing with YouTube’s guidance
YouTube lists AAC or MP3 as supported audio codecs and H.264 among its accepted video codecs. It recommends constant bitrate (CBR) encoding and a two-second keyframe interval; the interval should not exceed four seconds. Compare the actual output settings—not merely the source file’s properties—with the guidance on YouTube’s encoder settings page.

There is no case-specific bitrate value established by the information in the title. Use YouTube’s current encoder guidance and the complete health message rather than guessing a bitrate or copying a setting intended for a different resolution or ingest configuration.

Check the protocol and destination URL shown for the configured YouTube stream against the destination FFmpeg is using. YouTube recommends RTMPS. Google describes RTMPS as RTMP tunneled through an SSL connection and warns that a cleartext RTMP connection sent to a server expecting RTMPS may not return a useful response. That is one possible mismatch to check, not proof that it caused this instance.

- PLUG IN AND HEAR SOUND IN SECONDS - USB Type-A connector with a 3.5mm stereo headphone output and a separate 3.5mm mono microphone input. No drivers, no software, no external power - the adapter is USB bus-powered and is recognized as a standard USB audio device.
- WORKS ON WINDOWS, MAC AND LINUX - Driverless on Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista/7/8, Linux and Mac OSX, and compliant with the USB Audio Device Class 1.0 specification, so any system that supports class-compliant USB audio will see it. Select it as the sound output and input device after plugging it in.
- TWO JACKS, TWO JOBS - The green jack is stereo OUT for headphones or powered speakers; the pink jack is mono microphone IN for a 3.5mm mic. It does NOT support 4-pole headsets on a single combo plug, it does NOT power passive speakers, and it does NOT add surround sound - it is a stereo 2-channel adapter.
- FOR LAPTOPS AND DESKTOPS THAT NEED AN AUDIO PORT BACK - Adds a headphone and mic port to a laptop, desktop, or mini PC whose onboard jack has failed or was never there. Managed and work-issued computers can block new USB audio devices by policy - check with your IT department before ordering for a company machine.
- SABRENT SUPPORT AND WARRANTY - What is in the box: one USB audio sound adapter. Backed by a 1-year limited warranty, extended to 2 years when you register within 90 days on the manufacturer's website.
Do not switch protocols blindly: codec support differs by ingestion protocol. Confirm compatibility and use the endpoint associated with the ingest method configured for the stream. See Google’s ingestion protocol comparison and its RTMPS guidance.

5. Test representative content and watch stream health
YouTube recommends testing with audio and movement representative of the actual event, then monitoring stream health and messages while live. For a meditation stream, make the test reflect the intended audio and video output rather than treating local playback as the test. Keep the Live Control Room status visible while confirming whether YouTube reports incoming media.
If the stream still reports no data
A useful troubleshooting report includes the exact FFmpeg command with the stream key removed, FFmpeg’s input/output mapping, relevant error lines, whether the command has a video source, the selected YouTube ingest protocol, and the full Live Control Room health message. Those details distinguish an output or mapping problem from a codec, timing, or endpoint mismatch. Without them, no single cause or guaranteed fix can be identified.
