Wyze Error Code 90 means the app cannot reach the camera: Wyze labels it “Device is offline” and recommends checking the internet connection or power-cycling the camera. Start with power and connectivity, then reset and set up the device again if needed. If it still fails, check the existing router’s Wi-Fi settings and re-add the camera.
What Wyze Error Code 90 means
Wyze identifies Code 90 as a device-offline message associated with connectivity. It can appear while opening a live stream, just after setup, when accessing a camera that was already configured, or after the camera seems to connect and then goes offline. Wyze’s Error Code 90 guidance and general error-code reference describe the issue and troubleshooting options.
Try these fixes in order
1. Check power and internet, then power-cycle the camera
- Confirm the camera has power and that your internet connection is working.
- Unplug the camera, wait briefly, and reconnect it. Allow it time to start, then try opening it in the Wyze app again.
- If the app appears stuck, force-close it and reopen it before retrying. Wyze mentions this as a general check for app error codes; for Code 90, its dedicated instruction is to check the connection or power-cycle the camera.
2. Reset the device and set it up again
If the camera remains offline, Wyze describes a factory reset followed by setup in the app as a common fix. The reset method depends on the device:
- Wyze Cam or Cam Pan: Hold the SETUP button on the bottom of the camera for 10 seconds.
- Wyze Video Doorbell or Doorbell Pro: Single-press the Reset button on the back.
- Wyze Cam Outdoor: It cannot be factory reset, so this reset step does not apply.
After resetting a supported device, add it again in the Wyze app and follow the setup prompts. A reset clears the device’s setup, so you will need to configure it again.

3. Check the existing router’s Wi-Fi settings
If Code 90 persists, Wyze says unsupported Wi-Fi mode, security, or frequency settings can prevent a camera from connecting. Its guidance specifies:
- Wi-Fi security set to WPA/WPA2, or WPA2 if WPA/WPA2 is not available.
- Wi-Fi mode set to 802.11 b/g/n.
- The 2.4 GHz band enabled.
Router interfaces vary by model and internet provider. Use the router’s manual or your ISP’s directions to find and change these settings; Wyze says its support team cannot access or guide changes to an individual modem or router. These steps concern the router you already have and do not establish that you need to replace it.

4. Remove the camera, save router changes, then add it again
Wyze’s recommended sequence for applying router changes is to remove each affected camera from the Wyze app before changing modem or router settings. After saving the settings, reboot the modem and wait for it to stabilize. Then add the camera as a new device. Wyze’s visible setup path begins at Home > plus > Device; the exact remaining options can vary with the app and device.
5. Check whether Wyze has a service issue
If the camera and home connection appear to be working but the app still cannot reach the device, check Wyze.com and the app for service-status information, as Wyze recommends in its error-code reference. That check can help distinguish a device or home-network problem from a broader service disruption.

When to contact your ISP
If you cannot access the router settings or are unsure how to change them, ask your internet service provider for help. Wyze specifically directs customers to their ISP for modem and router configuration assistance, since router menus and available settings differ.
