There is no verified player-side repair for the WARDOGS “wrong call” wipe, and no immediate second wipe was scheduled for the weekend of 17–18 October 2026. The change is controlled by Bulkhead’s account backend. Reinstalling the game or deleting local files cannot restore server-side cash, XP, role levels or unlocks. First identify which type of progress changed, preserve evidence, and use Bulkhead’s official support or community route if an investigation channel is opened.
What happened to WARDOGS progression
WARDOGS’ published seasonal plan separates temporary progression from persistent account items. At a season boundary, cash and XP progression are reset, while outstanding cash is converted into gold bars. Gold bars and cosmetics are intended to remain available across seasons. That means a normal seasonal reset can remove cash and role progression without removing purchased or earned cosmetic content.

Season 2 went live on 15 October 2026 at the end of its published maintenance window. The Season 2 patch material did not publish a separate, out-of-cycle reset schedule. Two days later, on 17 October, Bulkhead acknowledged that it had deliberately accelerated Season 2 progression and called that decision “the wrong call.” The studio said some players were reaching end-game equipment, including Tier 4 armour and main battle tanks (MBTs), within days, so the intended fresh-start effect “never really landed.”

It said Season 3 and some of its content might be brought forward significantly, with more details promised in a developer vlog. No Season 3 launch date, revised XP requirements or next reset clock had been published in the material available for this guide.

What can and cannot be recovered
| Progress or item | Season-plan treatment | How to interpret a loss |
|---|---|---|
| Cash | Reset at the end of a season and converted into gold bars | A seasonal cash change can be expected at the boundary; an unexplained mid-season loss needs evidence and support review. |
| XP and role progression | Reset at the end of a season | Loss outside a confirmed seasonal boundary is not covered by a documented player repair procedure. |
| Gold bars | Persistent across seasons | A missing gold-bar balance is different from a normal XP or cash reset and should be reported as an account issue. |
| Cosmetics | Persistent across seasons | Cosmetic disappearance is not explained by the published seasonal conversion. |
| Unlocks and role tracks | Connected to progression; a player-facing rollback process is not documented | Record the exact role, level and unlock name rather than assuming a reinstall can restore them. |
The available statements do not describe a rollback command, a save-file repair, or an account-restore workflow. Because these values are held server-side, changing files on your computer or console cannot be treated as a verified recovery method. Third-party utilities that claim to rewrite WARDOGS progression carry a separate account and security risk and are not an established solution.
Use this recovery checklist before changing anything
These steps preserve a clean record for support. Restarting and checking the account can rule out a display or identity mismatch, but neither action is a confirmed restoration method.
- Classify the missing value. Decide whether the problem affects cash, XP, a role level, an unlock, gold bars, or a cosmetic. Compare the current screen with what you remember immediately before the change.
- Restart WARDOGS normally. Close the game completely, launch it again and allow any pending update to finish. Treat this as a consistency check, not as a rollback.
- Verify the platform and account identity. Make sure you are using the same platform profile and WARDOGS account that held the progress. Do not unlink, merge or switch accounts while trying to diagnose the issue.
- Capture the current state. Take screenshots showing the affected balance, role level, unlock screen, inventory or cosmetic collection. Include the system clock or another visible date indicator when practical.
- Write down the last known state. Record the approximate level for each affected role, the names of unlocks, cash, gold bars, match or transaction dates, and when you first noticed the change. Separate facts you saw from estimates you remember.
- Check official announcements and patch notes. Look for a Bulkhead hotfix, a stated compensation grant, a rollback window or a support form. The currently documented material contains no player-facing restore command.
- Submit evidence through the official route if one opens. Include your platform and account identifier, the affected roles, the exact missing items, timestamps, screenshots and any relevant purchase or match records. Keep the description chronological and avoid sending passwords or authentication codes.
- Leave the account and local files unchanged during review. Do not delete saves, reinstall repeatedly, use memory editors or accept offers from tools that promise to rewrite progression. Such changes can remove useful evidence without proving that the backend value was corrected.
Diagnose the most common “wipe” reports
Cash or XP disappeared after a season boundary
Check the season date first. The published plan explicitly makes cash and XP seasonal and converts outstanding cash into gold bars at the boundary. If your gold-bar total reflects that conversion and your cosmetics remain present, the result may be the planned seasonal treatment rather than a corrupted account. Capture the balances anyway if the conversion does not match what you expected.
Cash or XP vanished during Season 2
Season 2 launched on 15 October 2026, and the available patch material did not announce an additional out-of-cycle reset schedule. A mid-season change therefore needs a dated record: note the last match or login where the value was visible, the first session where it was gone, and whether every role or only one track was affected. There is no published self-service rollback for this case.
Gold bars or cosmetics are missing
Those categories were described as persistent across seasons. A missing gold-bar balance or cosmetic collection is not explained by the normal cash-and-XP reset. Verify the same account identity, preserve screenshots and transaction details, and report the discrepancy through the official support channel rather than trying to repair local files.
Only Driver progression looks wrong
A launch-day backend correction addressed Driver progression that had been running about 40–50% faster than the other role tracks. The same update path removed or targeted a Driver exploit. This confirms that Bulkhead changed progression rules on the backend; it does not document a method for restoring an individual player’s previous level. Record the Driver level, the date it changed and any related unlocks before contacting support.

Tier 4 armour or an MBT appeared unusually quickly
Bulkhead’s 17 October statement said some players reached Tier 4 armour and MBTs within days because Season 2 progression had been accelerated. Rapid access to those items is therefore part of the acknowledged balance problem, not proof that every account needs an immediate wipe. Do not reset your own account or discard equipment while waiting for a policy decision.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsWhy reinstalling or deleting files does not restore progress
The affected values are account progression maintained by the game service. A reinstall can replace local program files, clear a cache or force an update, but it cannot create a server-side cash balance or role level that the account does not currently report. Deleting local data is especially risky because it can remove screenshots, logs or settings that help establish what happened.
The same limitation applies to graphics resets, clearing shader data and changing storage devices. Those actions may address crashes or rendering problems, but no supplied WARDOGS statement identifies them as progression recovery steps. Use them only for a separate technical fault, not as a response to missing XP or unlocks.

What Bulkhead has and has not committed to
- Confirmed: the studio intentionally sped up Season 2 progression and later described that decision as “the wrong call.”
- Confirmed: the studio did not plan a knee-jerk reset for the 17–18 October weekend.
- Confirmed: Driver progression had been roughly 40–50% faster than other role tracks before a backend correction, and a Driver exploit was removed or targeted.
- Not published: a player-facing rollback or account restoration process.
- Not published: a Season 3 launch date, revised XP requirements or the next seasonal reset time.
Those distinctions matter. A developer statement about considering an earlier Season 3 is not the same as a scheduled wipe, and a backend correction is not the same as a personal rollback. Treat dates as provisional until Bulkhead posts a specific announcement or patch note.

Support can investigate a server record more efficiently when the report identifies one account and one time window. Put the platform and account identifier at the top, followed by a short timeline:

How to evaluate a future reset, rollback or compensation announcement
If Bulkhead later publishes several options, compare them on five concrete axes rather than relying on the word “wipe.”
- Data affected: identify whether the action changes cash, XP, role levels, unlocks, gold bars, cosmetics or only one of those categories.
- Scope: check whether it applies to every account, only accounts affected by an exploit, or a particular role track.
- Timing: look for the exact maintenance window, rollback point and any deadline for submitting evidence.
- Evidence: note whether Bulkhead uses server records automatically or asks players for screenshots, transaction dates or account identifiers.
- Mechanism: distinguish a hotfix that changes future progression, a compensation grant, a targeted rollback and a full seasonal reset. They produce different results and different risks.
A “compensation” grant may add an item without restoring the level or unlock path that produced it. A seasonal reset may follow the published conversion rules without addressing a mid-season backend error. Read the affected data and timing in the announcement before deciding whether your account still needs support.
When should you keep playing?
If only the expected seasonal cash and XP conversion occurred, your persistent gold bars and cosmetics are present, and no official investigation is open, you can continue playing while keeping the screenshots and notes. If a non-persistent value changed unexpectedly, or a persistent item vanished, preserve the account state and wait for an official response rather than repeatedly reinstalling or altering files.
Keep checking Bulkhead’s official announcements, patch notes and developer-vlog details for a dated Season 3 plan. Until a specific reset time or restoration procedure is published, the safest assumption is that progression changes remain controlled by the backend and cannot be repaired from the player’s device.
