If Fancy Ragdoll is missing in Fortnite, first open Locker > Sidekicks, select Fancy Ragdoll, and equip it. Then test it in Battle Royale or another experience that supports Sidekicks. A creator-made island can disable Sidekicks, and Battle Royale intentionally limits visibility to members of your team. If the cat is equipped but invisible in a supported mode, treat the problem as a visual bug: verify Fortnite’s files, clear the Epic Games Launcher cache on PC, clean-boot or disable background applications, reinstall only if necessary, and submit an in-game bug report if the problem continues.
What Fancy Ragdoll is — and what “not appearing” can mean
Fancy Ragdoll is a cosmetic Sidekick in Fortnite’s Chic Cat set. It was introduced in Chapter 7, Season 4 and listed at 1,200 V-Bucks. The Epic Games listing describes it as “The sweetest little fluffy friend.” It can react to the world around you, but it is not an AI teammate, combat helper, scouting tool, or item finder. Sidekicks do not detect enemies or items, provide a gameplay advantage, or take damage.

The web item listing shows purchase availability until October 23, 2026 at 00:00 GMT. That displayed date can change with shop rotation, so the timer in your in-game Item Shop is the final authority for your account and region. Availability in the shop is separate from whether an already purchased Sidekick renders correctly.

“Not appearing” describes several different situations. Fancy Ragdoll might be absent from the Locker, unequipped, disabled by a creator-made island, visible to you but not to a friend, or equipped but missing because of a client-side rendering problem. Identify which situation you have before changing files or reinstalling the game.

Fix Fancy Ragdoll in the correct order
1. Confirm the purchase and equip the Sidekick slot
Start with the account and selection check because a Sidekick cannot render if it is not assigned to the active slot.
- Open Fortnite and go to Locker.
- Select Sidekicks in the left-hand navigation.
- Select the current Sidekick tile or slot.
- Choose Fancy Ragdoll from the Sidekicks you own.
- Confirm the selection, leave the Locker, and enter a supported experience to test it.
If Fancy Ragdoll appears in the Locker but another Sidekick remains selected, the item is not missing; it is simply not equipped. Equip it on the same Epic account that completed the purchase. If it is absent from the Sidekicks list entirely, check that you are signed into the expected Epic account and allow the account to finish syncing after a purchase or platform change.
Do not buy the item again as a troubleshooting step. If the purchase completed but the Sidekick still does not appear after the account has synchronized, contact Epic Games Player Support and provide the transaction details, the platform used for the purchase, and the Epic account currently signed in. The available guidance does not identify a player-side entitlement repair that can restore a missing purchase from the Locker.
2. Test in Battle Royale before diagnosing a Creative island
Sidekicks can accompany players in Battle Royale, Save the World, Fortnite Festival backstage, LEGO Fortnite, and developer-made experiences that have enabled Sidekicks. The safest diagnostic test is a standard Battle Royale match because it separates an island configuration issue from an account or game-client issue.

- Equip Fancy Ragdoll in the Locker.
- Join a normal Battle Royale match rather than starting with a particular creator-made island.
- Observe whether Fancy Ragdoll appears beside your character after loading in.
- If it appears in Battle Royale, return to the island where it was missing. That island is likely disabling Sidekicks or using an experience configuration that does not support them.
In a creator-made island, the island developer controls whether Sidekicks are enabled. An island can therefore suppress Fancy Ragdoll even when the item is correctly purchased and equipped. A missing Sidekick in one island is not evidence that your Locker entitlement or installation is broken.
3. Account for Battle Royale’s team-only visibility rule
Battle Royale does not show every player’s Sidekick to every other player. Epic’s listing states that, in Battle Royale, you can see only the Sidekicks belonging to your team. Your own Fancy Ragdoll may be visible to you while a friend on the opposing team cannot see it. A player elsewhere in the match also may not see it, and that behavior is expected rather than a rendering failure.
For a reliable multiplayer check, ask a squadmate who is currently on your team to look for Fancy Ragdoll. Do not use an opponent’s report as proof that the cat is missing. If you and a teamed squadmate cannot see it, continue with the visual-bug checks below.

When Fancy Ragdoll is selected, the mode supports Sidekicks, and your own character still has no visible companion, use Epic’s general visual-bug procedure. These steps are not a Fancy Ragdoll-specific hotfix, but they address damaged files, launcher state, and software conflicts that can prevent cosmetic assets from rendering.

- Verify Fortnite’s files. Open the Epic Games Launcher and use its Fortnite file-verification option. Let the process complete, then launch Fortnite again and test Fancy Ragdoll in Battle Royale.
- Clear the Epic Games Launcher cache on PC. Close Fortnite and the launcher completely, clear the launcher cache using Epic’s support instructions for your operating system, reopen the launcher, and test again. This step applies to PC; it is not a console procedure.
- Clean-boot the PC or disable background applications. Temporarily prevent nonessential startup programs and overlays from running, then launch Fortnite with as few background applications as practical. If the Sidekick returns, re-enable applications methodically to identify the conflict. On a console, use the platform’s normal restart and application-closing procedures instead of a Windows clean boot.
- Reinstall Fortnite only if the earlier steps fail. A reinstall takes longer and affects the entire game installation, so reserve it for a persistent rendering problem in supported experiences after file verification and cache troubleshooting.
- Submit an in-game bug report. If Fancy Ragdoll remains invisible after the supported-mode test and the troubleshooting sequence, report the problem through Fortnite’s in-game reporting path. Include the platform, game mode or island, whether you can see the Sidekick yourself, whether a teamed player can see it, and the steps that consistently reproduce the problem.
Use the symptom to identify the likely cause

This comparison uses four useful diagnostic axes: where the failure occurs, who cannot see the Sidekick, whether another Sidekick renders, and which platform is affected. A failure limited to one island points toward island support; a failure limited to opponents in Battle Royale is expected; a failure across supported modes points toward entitlement or client rendering.
What to do when Fancy Ragdoll is missing from the Locker
A missing Locker entry is different from an invisible in-game model. First return to the account that bought the item and open the Sidekicks section again after restarting Fortnite. Purchases made on a different Epic account will not appear on the account you are currently using. If you recently completed the transaction, give the account time to synchronize before escalating.
Keep the purchase receipt or transaction information available when contacting Epic Games Player Support. Explain that the item is absent from Locker > Sidekicks, rather than merely invisible in a match. That distinction helps support separate an entitlement issue from a rendering issue. Do not attempt to solve a missing entitlement by purchasing Fancy Ragdoll a second time.

Creative and developer-made experiences can disable Sidekicks
Epic supports Sidekicks in selected Fortnite experiences, but developer-made islands can choose whether to enable them. This is why a Sidekick can work normally in Battle Royale and disappear as soon as you load a particular island. The island may intentionally suppress Sidekicks for its gameplay design, performance goals, or other experience settings.

To check whether that is the cause, equip Fancy Ragdoll, enter Battle Royale, and confirm that it appears there. Then enter the creator-made island again. If the Sidekick works in Battle Royale but not on that island, there is no client repair that can override the island’s setting. Try another supported experience or ask the island creator whether Sidekicks are enabled.
Visibility can also vary between other Fortnite experiences. A successful Battle Royale test proves that the account, selection, and basic client rendering are working; it does not guarantee that every island will display the companion.

Fancy Ragdoll is customizable, but Epic states that choices are permanent after you lock them in. Epic also says that each owned Sidekick customization must be unique and that duplicate appearances are not allowed. Treat the appearance confirmation as an ownership and customization decision, not as a display setting.
Changing or relocking the cat does not repair a missing model. Repurchasing the item does not repair it either, and can create a separate account or transaction problem. Troubleshoot the Locker selection, experience support, visibility rule, and game client in that order instead.
Platform-specific troubleshooting boundaries
PC
PC players have the additional Epic Games Launcher checks: file verification and launcher-cache clearing. Background software, overlays, security tools, and startup applications can also interfere with rendering, which is why Epic’s visual-bug guidance includes a clean boot or disabling background applications. Re-test after each change so you know which action affected the result.
Console
Console players should still begin with the Locker, account, supported-mode, and team-visibility checks. The Epic launcher-cache step is specifically a PC procedure, so do not search for a matching launcher cache on a console. Use the console’s normal full restart and application-closing behavior, then reinstall Fortnite only if the problem continues across supported experiences.
Any platform
The most valuable evidence is consistent behavior: whether you see Fancy Ragdoll yourself, whether a teammate sees it, whether another Sidekick appears, whether the failure occurs in Battle Royale or only one island, and whether the problem survives a restart. Record those details before filing a report instead of describing the symptom only as “my cat is gone.”

Use Fortnite’s in-game bug-report path after confirming that Fancy Ragdoll is equipped and testing it in a supported experience. State the exact experience, platform, and account context. A concise report should answer these questions:
- Is Fancy Ragdoll visible in Locker > Sidekicks?
- Is it selected in the active Sidekick slot?
- Does it appear in Battle Royale?
- Can a squadmate on your team see it?
- Does the problem occur in every supported experience or only one creator-made island?
- Does another owned Sidekick render normally?
- Did file verification, launcher-cache clearing, background-app troubleshooting, or a reinstall change the behavior?
Those observations distinguish an entitlement problem, an island setting, an expected Battle Royale visibility limit, and a client rendering failure. If the item is missing from the Locker, include transaction details; if it is equipped but invisible, describe the mode and the visual result.
Quick decision checklist
- Not in Locker: verify the Epic account and purchase synchronization; contact Epic Games Player Support if the entitlement remains absent.
- In Locker but not active: equip Fancy Ragdoll from Locker > Sidekicks.
- Missing only on one island: the island may have Sidekicks disabled.
- Invisible only to opponents: that is normal in Battle Royale because visibility is team-limited.
- Invisible to you and teammates in a supported mode: use the visual-bug sequence.
- Considering another purchase or customization: do not; neither repairs rendering, and customization choices are permanent after confirmation.
What you should expect after a successful fix
In a supported experience, Fancy Ragdoll should accompany your character after it is selected in the Sidekick slot. It may react to the surrounding world, but it will not search for enemies or items, change combat outcomes, or take damage. In Battle Royale, teammates can see your Sidekick while opponents and other players may not. In creator-made experiences, the island’s Sidekick setting determines whether it appears at all.
