Close memory-heavy programs before launching the game and watch Task Manager while reproducing the hitch. Keep free space on the game drive rather than filling it to capacity. The listing specifies 2 GB available storage at minimum and 4 GB recommended, but Windows and the Steam client also need working space for updates and temporary files. If the drive is nearly full, free space before judging the effect of graphics changes.
6. Retest with a repeatable method
- Choose one scene, mission, or camera movement where the stutter is easy to notice.

Disable one overlay or capture feature at a time and retest. Include chat overlays, graphics-driver overlays, recording software, performance monitors, and virtual-controller layers in the list of variables. Temporarily test with unnecessary antivirus exclusions removed or with the security product’s game mode disabled, following the product’s own safe procedures; do not leave protection disabled as a permanent solution.

Check the timing and the trigger

Why is my controller not working in SHIFU: Traffic Masters?

3. Remove virtual-controller and remapping conflicts
Close DS4Windows, reWASD, and other virtual-controller or remapping utilities during the test. Also close overlays that inject controller or keyboard commands. Reconnect the physical controller after those programs have exited, then launch Steam and the game again.
If the device works only when a remapper is active, configure that tool to expose one virtual controller and disable Steam Input for this game, or use Steam Input alone. Avoid presenting both the physical and virtual versions to the game, because duplicate devices can cause drifting, doubled buttons, or a layout that appears completely wrong.
4. Fix incorrect buttons or duplicate profiles
