What’s actually slowing this PC down?

If Samsung Internet crashes, loads slowly, or will not open a page, first work out whether the problem affects one website, the browser, your connection, or the whole Galaxy device. Then try low-risk fixes—refreshing the page, closing tabs, checking site settings, and updating—before clearing data or contacting Samsung. Menu names can vary by device, app version, and One UI release; use the closest equivalent shown on your screen.
First, find out what is failing
Before changing browser settings, compare the problem across websites, apps, and networks. These checks help narrow down the scope; none identifies the cause on its own.

- One website or every website? If only one site fails, its settings or service may be involved. Try another site.
- Samsung Internet or the connection? Open the same page in another browser or test an internet-connected app. If those also fail, the issue may be broader than Samsung Internet.
- Browser-only or device-wide? If the whole phone or tablet is slow or unresponsive, look beyond the browser and check device performance.
- One network or more than one? Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, or try a known working network if available. Samsung also recommends checking the Wi-Fi connection when troubleshooting browser playback issues (Samsung browser troubleshooting).
Try the quick, low-risk fixes
Reload the page and restart the browser
Reload the affected page. If Samsung Internet is still slow or stuck, close the browser and open it again. Close unused tabs as well: Samsung recommends this when the browser is slow or lagging (Samsung guidance for a slow or lagging browser).
Restart the device if the problem extends beyond the browser
If other apps or the Galaxy device are also slow or unresponsive, close unnecessary background apps and restart the device. Samsung’s device troubleshooting also recommends checking memory and using Device Care where available (Samsung guidance for a slow or unresponsive Galaxy device).

Check JavaScript and cookies when a site will not display or sign in
Some websites need JavaScript to render correctly, and some require cookies to maintain a session or allow sign-in. If a page is blank, incomplete, or repeatedly logs you out, check Samsung Internet’s settings for JavaScript and cookie controls. Samsung includes both in its browser troubleshooting steps and notes that sites may not work when cookies are blocked (Samsung browser troubleshooting; Samsung cookie and site-data guidance).
Allowing cookies can affect privacy, so do not change the setting for every site unless you want to. If possible, adjust it for the affected site, test the page, and restore your preferred setting afterward. Labels and available controls vary by app version.

Install available browser and Galaxy updates
Updates can address software problems. Check for Galaxy software updates in Settings, then check Galaxy Store or Google Play for a Samsung Internet update if the app is offered there. The route and availability depend on your device, region, and software version. Samsung lists system and app updates among its browser troubleshooting steps (Samsung browser troubleshooting).
Clear Samsung Internet browsing data carefully
If pages are stale or loading slowly, clearing cached images and files is a reasonable next step. Samsung’s browser settings place the control under Personal browsing data > Delete browsing data; wording can differ between versions (Samsung guidance for a slow or lagging browser).

- Open Samsung Internet and tap its menu.
- Open Settings, then Personal browsing data.
- Tap Delete browsing data.
- Select Cached images and files first, then confirm.
Clearing cookies or site data is more disruptive: you may be signed out and need to log in again. Leave saved passwords and autofill data unselected unless you deliberately want to remove them. Samsung also includes cache and cookie cleanup among its browser troubleshooting steps (Samsung browser troubleshooting).
Clear the app cache only if browser cleanup did not help
Android’s app cache is separate from Samsung Internet’s browsing-data controls. To clear it, open Settings > Apps > Samsung Internet > Storage > Clear cache. Samsung notes that menu steps vary by software version and selected app (Samsung guidance on clearing app cache and data).

Do not choose Clear data as if it were another cache-cleaning option. Samsung says this resets the app to factory-default settings and removes personal settings or data saved in that app. Use it only if less disruptive steps have failed, and be prepared to set the app up again and sign in where needed (Samsung guidance on clearing app cache and data).
Test a content blocker only if you use one
If the slowdown began after you installed or updated a content blocker, temporarily disable it and retest Samsung Internet. If that resolves the issue, check for an update to the blocker before deciding whether to keep it disabled. Samsung Canada published a notice linking some ad-blocking apps to a historical slow-loading or nonresponsive-browser symptom (Samsung Canada notice about browser responsiveness). That notice does not establish that blockers generally cause current crashes, so treat this as a targeted compatibility check rather than a universal fix.

Send Samsung an error report if the problem persists
For a repeatable browser problem that remains after the steps above, Samsung’s route is Samsung Internet menu > Settings > Contact us > Error reports, then select Contact us/Error reports. Enable system log data when submitting so the report includes diagnostic information. The exact labels can vary (Samsung browser troubleshooting and error reports).
If the whole phone or tablet remains slow or unstable, run Samsung Members > Diagnostics > Phone diagnostics if that option is available on your device, or contact Samsung Support.
