If your Exynos-powered Galaxy is getting hot and losing charge quickly, first stop heavy use and let it cool naturally. Then identify when the symptoms occur—during demanding apps, charging, weak reception, setup or restoration, or while the phone is idle. Samsung’s guidance lists several possible causes; heat alone does not show that the Exynos processor is defective.
First, cool the phone safely
If the phone is uncomfortably hot or stays hot, pause demanding tasks. If it is heating while charging, unplug it, close active apps, and wait for it to cool before charging again. Let it cool at room temperature; do not try to chill it rapidly. Samsung says a Galaxy may limit charging as protection when its temperature rises, so do not bypass thermal warnings. See Samsung’s guidance for a Galaxy that heats up while in use.

Work out when the heat and drain happen
Warmth during prolonged or high-power activity can be normal. Initial setup, restoring or transferring data, gaming, streaming, recording video, navigation, multitasking, maximum brightness, and using the phone while charging can all increase workload. Samsung also identifies environmental and connectivity factors; these are possibilities to check, not proof of a particular fault. Its phone heating guidance was updated on 7 December 2021.
- Only during demanding use: Reduce workload, lower brightness, take breaks from recording or gaming, and avoid using the phone while it charges.
- In a hot or enclosed place: Move it out of direct sunlight and away from hot cars, bedding, bags, or pockets that trap heat.
- On mobile data or while roaming: Weak reception can make the phone work harder to maintain a connection. Check whether the behavior improves in a location with stronger signal. Airplane mode is not a general fix because it disables connectivity.
- During hotspot use or background syncing: Tethering, cloud backups, email, and other syncing can add sustained load. Check whether the drain eases after these tasks finish.
- While charging: Inspect the cable and connector, and check the wireless-charging setup. Damaged or unsuitable accessories can contribute to heat.
- After an update, setup, or restoration: Allow intensive transfers and syncing to finish, then see whether the phone settles. If heat or rapid drain continues while idle, investigate apps and battery use.
Reduce avoidable battery use
- Update and restart. Install available system software and app updates, then restart the phone. Menu labels and paths vary by model and software version.
- Find high-use apps. Open Settings and look for Battery or Battery and device care, then review battery usage. Exact labels vary. If an app is using unusually much power without a clear reason, update it, close it, or uninstall it if you do not need it.
- Lower screen demand. Reduce brightness. If your model offers a refresh-rate setting, consider Standard rather than a higher refresh rate.
- Limit background activity where appropriate. Device Care optimization, background usage limits, and Power saving mode can curb activity. Depending on model and settings, this may delay syncing or notifications, restrict background location or network use, or reduce performance.
- Switch off radios only when you do not need them. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or location can be turned off when unused, but disabling a service you rely on may interrupt connections or location-based features.
Samsung’s battery-drain advice also recommends reviewing battery use, limiting power-consuming apps, and using Power saving where appropriate. The guidance is on Samsung China’s battery-drain support page; its English wording is machine-translated, so use your phone’s own menu labels rather than treating the translated names as exact UI instructions.

- Large Cooling Area & Plug and Play: About 4.65 sq. Inches extreme thermal conductive cooling area to cover the CPU and battery module, protecting your phone from blackening or sudden shut-off. Use the C-type cable(included), plug and play.
Check the charging equipment only if charging is implicated
Look for damage or debris around the cable and connector. Samsung recommends approved charging accessories and identifies damaged or non-genuine accessories as possible contributors to heat. For wireless charging, remove any metal, magnets, or cards between the phone and the charging pad. Replace a cable only if it is damaged, unsuitable, or implicated in the charging problem; confirm connector and charging compatibility for your Galaxy model. A replacement cable will not address drain caused by apps, weak signal, or background syncing.

Diagnostics can help assess battery status, but a replacement or other repair should follow a model-specific evaluation.
