If a Sound Assistant feature is missing, first check whether Samsung removed it for your phone’s One UI version; not every missing control is a fault. If per-app sound settings stop working after a restart, check Sound Assistant’s background battery restrictions. The right fix depends on the exact feature, your Galaxy model and form factor, and your One UI version.
Identify what is missing or broken
Sound Assistant is a Samsung Good Lock software module for adjusting audio behavior—not a hardware repair utility. Samsung lists capabilities such as per-app volume, finer volume increments, a customizable volume panel, assigning volume keys to media, and preventing navigation audio from interrupting other sound. Availability can depend on device and software version.

Before changing settings, note the precise symptom and check your phone’s model and One UI version. A control that Samsung no longer provides needs a different response from an option that appears but fails after a restart.
- A specific control disappeared: Check whether Samsung documents its removal for your One UI version and device type.
- Per-app sound settings stop applying after reboot: Check whether Sound Assistant is listed among apps subject to background battery restrictions.
- You are unsure whether your phone supports a feature: Check the live Sound Assistant listing in the Samsung Galaxy Store on your device. The available information does not establish a complete model-, region-, and version-by-version compatibility chart.
Samsung describes Sound Assistant’s controls in its Good Lock overview. Its examples include changing volume in increments from one to ten, though actual availability should be checked for your software build.

Why reverse stereo disappeared
Samsung has confirmed that Sound Assistant’s reverse stereo feature is no longer provided for ordinary smartphone types starting with One UI 7.0. A Good Lock moderator stated this in a Samsung Members reply dated 11 August 2025. That makes the missing option an intentional software change for those phones, rather than a setting to restore through reinstalling the module.
Samsung Members context also notes that reverse stereo was removed on the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 in earlier release notes, citing system sound-processing stability. The moderator’s One UI 7.0 statement specifically covers ordinary smartphone types. These statements do not establish the behavior of every model or form factor, so check the phone and software version before drawing a wider conclusion.

Fix per-app sound settings that fail after reboot
For one reported Galaxy S25+ case after updating to One UI 8, individually configured app sounds stopped working after each restart and resumed only when the user opened Sound Assistant. On 24 September 2025, Samsung Good Lock support recommended removing the module from restricted background-app lists and adding it to the never-sleep list:

- Check Sleeping apps and Deep sleeping apps. If Sound Assistant appears in either list, remove it.
- Add Sound Assistant to Never auto sleeping apps.
- Restart the phone and see whether the app-by-app sound settings remain in effect without opening Sound Assistant manually.
This is Samsung’s guidance for that reported One UI 8 symptom, not a guaranteed fix for every failure. Check availability without assuming every Galaxy supports every feature
Samsung’s Galaxy Store listing is the place to check Sound Assistant’s current availability and release information on your phone. The listing can change, and the sources available here do not establish a full compatibility matrix by model, region, and One UI version. A feature described generally by Samsung should not be taken as a promise that it appears on every Galaxy phone.
Samsung Newsroom reported more than 21 million cumulative downloads for Sound Assistant as of early March 2025, in an article dated 14 April 2025. That is a cumulative download figure, not a count of active users or proof of support for a particular device.

When to contact Samsung
If a feature should be available on your software but still fails after checking the relevant setting, contact Samsung through Samsung Members. For the reboot-related app-volume problem, send the error report and device logs promptly when it recurs. For a control that is absent, include your phone model, form factor, One UI version, and the exact control name so support can distinguish a compatibility or version change from a malfunction.
