If images disappear when you import a website into Figma with html.to.design, first match the fix to how you imported the page. For local HTML, the file may point to images that were not included or cannot be retrieved publicly. Try capturing the page with the html.to.design browser extension, importing a self-contained .h2d capture, or packaging the page and its assets in a ZIP. For one missing image with an accessible URL, import that URL directly.
Why images may be missing
A local .html or .htm file can contain references to image files without containing the image files themselves. html.to.design says it attempts to retrieve external resources, but this may fail when assets are absent or not publicly available. That is why a page can import while some images do not. See the vendor’s local-file import documentation.

For URL and browser-extension imports, the documentation describes the available workflows but does not establish a complete list of causes for missing images. Without inspecting the specific page and capture, do not assume a particular browser setting, CORS rule, lazy-loading behavior, or server block is responsible.
Choose a fix for the way you imported the page
Public website imported by URL
For a publicly accessible page, html.to.design’s Web tab lets you paste the page URL and import it. If images are absent in that result, try capturing the page as it renders in your browser with the html.to.design extension instead. The vendor describes the extension as a way to capture browser pages, including pages you can access after signing in. The documented Web tab flow is at Import any page from the Web; extension details are in What is html.to.design?.

Page is behind a login or depends on your browser session
Sign in to the site in your browser, then use the html.to.design extension to capture the page that is actually displayed. This is the more suitable route when the page is private or its content depends on an authenticated session; a public URL import may not have that access.
Local HTML file
Check that the image files referenced by the HTML are present and that the references point to files included with your page or otherwise accessible to the importer. If you have the source website files, package the HTML, CSS, images, and JavaScript together in a ZIP and import that. html.to.design documents a 32 MB ZIP size limit. It recommends the .h2d format because it contains the information needed to recreate the webpage. See Import local files for current file-import details.

Only one image is missing
If you know the direct URL of the image and it is accessible, paste that URL into the plugin to import the image on its own. The product announcement describes support for SVG, JPEG, and PNG; check the plugin’s current behavior if a particular format matters. This restores an individual image, not the missing images or layout of the full page. Details are in New features requested by YOU, our users!.

Images appear, but look blurry
Blurry or low-resolution images are different from missing images. html.to.design says higher-resolution sources may be available, and its documentation identifies the high-resolution option as currently available to PRO subscribers. See Improve image quality.

Practical recovery sequence
- Identify the import route. Decide whether you used the Web tab, the browser extension, a local
.html/.htmfile, a ZIP, or an image URL. The right remedy depends on where the page and its assets are available. - For an authenticated or browser-rendered page, capture it in the browser. Sign in if needed and use the html.to.design extension to capture the page as displayed.
- For local files, package the assets or use a capture file. Confirm that referenced image files accompany the HTML, import the files together in a ZIP within the documented 32 MB limit, or use the recommended
.h2dformat. - For a single accessible image, import its direct URL. Treat this as a one-image workaround, not a repair for the whole capture.
- If the problem remains, contact support. html.to.design directs users with rendering issues to its Discord support channel; its public guidance does not promise a specific resolution or provide a dedicated missing-image diagnostic form. See Report an issue.
