To import a password-protected staging page into Figma, sign in to it in a supported Chromium-based browser, capture it with the html.to.design browser extension, then open the capture in the html.to.design Figma plugin. The plugin’s Web tab is intended for public websites with open URLs; it does not use your authenticated browser session.
How to capture a password-protected staging page

Install the html.to.design browser extension in a supported Chromium-based browser. Its installation guide lists Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Arc, and other Chromium-based browsers; it does not specify minimum browser versions. See the installation instructions.

Sign in to the staging site using an account you are authorized to use, then navigate to the exact page and state you want in Figma. The extension captures what is visible in the browser.

Open the extension, choose the viewports and themes you need, and select Capture. For a private page behind a login or VPN, the vendor specifies using the extension in addition to the Figma plugin: Import a private webpage.

Choose how to hand off the capture: send it directly to the plugin, or download a local
.h2dfile. -
In Figma, open the html.to.design plugin and select its Extension tab to access a directly sent capture. For a downloaded file, open the plugin and drop the
.h2dfile into it. Choose import settings, map any missing fonts if needed, and import. The extension workflow is documented at Import directly from your browser with the browser extension.Rank #2

Choose direct transfer or a local .h2d file

The local-file statement describes the capture-file path only; it is not a general privacy guarantee for Figma or the browser. See Import local files.
Why the Web tab is not the route for a private page
The plugin’s Web tab is documented for public sites that have an open URL. A page that requires a login is available to your signed-in browser, but a URL import does not substitute for that authenticated session. Use the extension after signing in instead. See Import any page from the Web.

CAPTCHA, bot checks, and capture fidelity

CAPTCHA or human verification: A URL import can show a verification prompt instead of the page. html.to.design recommends the extension for bot-protected sites, and its extension guide says you must solve a CAPTCHA challenge before capturing. See Bot-protected sites.

Unexpected page state: Confirm you are signed in to the right account and that the browser displays the intended staging page before capturing. The extension captures the visible page, so navigate to the desired state first.

Missing fonts or imperfect import: Map missing fonts in the plugin’s import settings and compare the imported result with the page you were authorized to access. The documentation describes the workflow but does not guarantee a perfect import for every page or staging configuration.
