First check whether Forza Horizon 6 is available to download on PS5. PlayStation’s US listing currently shows the game as upcoming, with its release date marked TBA and a wishlist option—not a confirmed download. Forza says the PS5 version is planned for after the game’s initial Xbox Series X|S and PC launch in 2026. If the game is not available in the PlayStation Store, there is no PS5 installation error to fix yet.
Check whether Forza Horizon 6 is available on PS5
Open the PlayStation US upcoming-games listing and check the game’s current PlayStation Store page. At the time of this article, PlayStation listed Forza Horizon 6 as an upcoming PS5 game, showed its release date as TBA, and offered a wishlist action. Those details do not confirm that the game can be purchased or downloaded.

Forza’s Forza Horizon 6 Reveal FAQ, dated January 22, 2026, says the initial release plan is Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2026, with the PS5 version planned post-launch. The FAQ does not give a PS5 release date. If the Store still shows no download or purchase option, check the official listing again later rather than treating the unavailable option as a failed download.

If the update still will not complete, contact PlayStation Support, as its update guidance directs users to support when the problem persists. This is general PS5 advice, not a confirmed Forza Horizon 6-specific fix.

If the PS5 system software update fails
If the error concerns the console’s system software rather than the game, follow PlayStation’s official PS5 system software update instructions. Use only the official update methods and files described there; do not install system update files from third-party sites.

When you contact support, record the exact on-screen error and identify which stage failed: Store availability or download, installation, a game update, or a PS5 system software update. Also note whether the game is shown as available to purchase in the official Store. Contact PlayStation Support for console, purchase, or network issues. Use an official Forza support route if one becomes available for the PS5 version; the current Forza FAQ is an announcement, not a technical troubleshooting guide.
Official sources currently establish no PS5 download size or storage requirement, known PS5 installation error, or Forza-specific update fix. Check the game’s official Store listing and support information for updated PS5 details as availability changes.
