When is Forza Horizon 6 coming to PS5?
As of October 7, 2026, the PS5 release date is still listed as TBA on the PlayStation catalog. The game launched on Xbox Series X|S and PC on May 19, 2026; the Forza announcement said the PS5 version would follow later in 2026, but did not give a date. Treat “later in 2026” as the announcement’s wording, not a confirmed PS5 launch date.

PlayStation describes the new game as set in Japan and featuring more than 550 real-world cars. That is a promotional scale figure from the platform listing, not an independently audited comparison of car rosters.

Forza Horizon 5: the closest substitute
Forza Horizon 5 is the straightforward choice if what you want is another game in the Horizon series rather than a game that merely shares open-world driving. Its PS5 version is listed on the PlayStation Store, with a release date of April 29, 2025. It takes place in Mexico and offers open-world driving and hundreds of cars, making it the clearest bridge to the next Horizon game.

It is still Forza Horizon 5, not Forza Horizon 6. Its PlayStation listing specifies persistent internet access and a Microsoft account, so factor those requirements into your choice.
The Crew Motorfest: festival roaming and a varied event mix
The Crew Motorfest is the strongest alternative if the appeal is a festival atmosphere with different kinds of driving rather than the Horizon name. Ubisoft describes its Hawaiian setting as “a vibrant Hawaiian open world” to explore with a crew. Its official product page highlights street races in Honolulu, off-road routes, and track events, as well as themed campaigns called Playlists.

Ubisoft’s product page, checked in October 2026, lists more than 25 Playlists and shows Year 4 and Season 11 updates announced in September and October 2026. Those details make it a live, evolving option; the number of Playlists is a publisher-listed feature count, not a measure of quality.
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown: for multiplayer car culture
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is better suited to someone seeking a multiplayer-centered car world than a like-for-like single-player Horizon replacement. PlayStation describes it as an open-world massively multiplayer racing game. Its PlayStation Store listing says online features require a PlayStation account. Check the listing for current regional availability and any additional play requirements before buying.
