It helps to separate what you did from what the game failed to do. - Install the current game update available for your platform.

Keep your retry focused. If the objective is to finish a named puzzle and then continue a quest, test that progression step after installing the relevant update. If it is an item-gathering duty, check the duty’s own progress status. Changing several things at once makes it harder to tell whether the official fix applies or whether you have encountered another issue.
