Why are my Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max photos blurry?
Blur can come from an obstructed or smudged camera area, low light, movement, or a close subject that is too near for the camera to focus reliably. Huawei’s official Mate 90 Pro Max specifications list rear-camera autofocus and super macro, but do not state a minimum focusing distance. Those features do not mean every close-up distance or lighting condition will produce a sharp image.

How do I fix the camera not focusing on my Mate 90 Pro Max?
1. Check the camera glass and nearby area
Look for fingerprints, dust, a lens film, or anything else covering the camera glass or nearby sensor and flash area. Huawei advises keeping the lens, laser sensor, and flash unobstructed and clean. Gently wipe the external camera glass with a clean, soft cloth, then take another photo.

Cleaning may clear an external smudge; it will not repair internal autofocus faults. Do not press hard or use abrasive materials.
2. Test in better light and let focus settle
Take a test photo in a well-lit scene. Low light can make focusing harder; use flash only if it suits the scene. Point the camera at the subject and wait for the on-screen focus frame to disappear before taking the photo. Huawei does not specify a Mate 90 Pro Max focus-wait time, so rely on the camera’s on-screen indication rather than a fixed number of seconds.

3. Hold steady and adjust close-up distance
Hold the phone still while the camera focuses and while you take the picture. At close range, even small movements can prompt refocusing and reduce focus accuracy. Huawei Support Global notes that “When taking photos at close range, the focus accuracy of your phone camera may decrease.”

4. Restore Camera settings to default
If cleaning, better light, and steadier shooting do not help, restore the Camera app’s default settings if that option is available in your device’s current software. Huawei says restoring Camera defaults resets camera settings without deleting user data. Menu names and locations can vary with software and region, so use the option shown on your device rather than relying on an unverified menu path.
When should I contact Huawei service?
Stop troubleshooting settings and arrange an inspection if the camera glass is scratched or cracked, or if focus remains faulty after the basic checks. Huawei recommends contacting a Customer Service Center for a scratched or cracked camera lens. For persistent problems, back up your data and take the device and proof of purchase to an authorized service center.

If the problem appears only with one camera view, or continues across different subjects and lighting conditions, note that pattern for the service team. Huawei’s general support guidance does not provide a Mate 90 Pro Max-specific lens-isolation test or diagnostic code, so a persistent fault needs professional assessment.

Huawei lists rear-camera autofocus, super macro, and a high-resolution telephoto camera with optical image stabilization for the Mate 90 Pro Max. These are feature specifications, not evidence that a particular blurry image means the phone is defective; nor do they establish the minimum distance at which a close subject will focus.
