If yours are Ray-Ban Meta glasses, start with the reversible checks below before considering a factory reset.
First, confirm the glasses and check the basics
The official instructions below are for Ray-Ban Meta glasses, as described in Ray-Ban’s US FAQ. The relationship between the title’s “Nova” wording and that product is not established. Check the packaging, product markings, or companion app to identify your glasses before following model-specific button or reset procedures.

- Charge and switch on the glasses. The FAQ describes a startup LED that blinks white and then turns solid green when the glasses are ready.
- Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
- On iPhone, if the glasses are already listed in Bluetooth settings, tap the device and choose “Forget This Device” before trying setup again. The FAQ says this step is not necessary on Android.
Pair glasses that will not appear in the Meta AI app
- Place the glasses in their charging case.
- Press and hold the button on the back of the case for five seconds. A blinking blue case light indicates pairing mode.
- Open the Meta AI app, sign in, and choose Settings > Add device. Follow the on-screen setup. App labels can change, so use the current equivalent if they differ.
- Allow up to ten seconds for the glasses to appear in the app.
If the glasses still do not appear, switch them off and back on, then quit and reopen the Meta AI app and try again. If setup continues to fail, use Ray-Ban’s warranty-claim route.
Fix glasses that paired before but now disconnect
- Move the phone closer to the glasses; Ray-Ban recommends keeping it in front of you or in a front pocket.
- Disconnect other Bluetooth devices temporarily.
- Turn the phone’s Bluetooth off and on again, then restart the Meta AI app.
- Restart both the phone and glasses.
- If the connection still fails, unpair the glasses in the app and remove them from the phone’s Bluetooth device list, then pair them again through the app.
Check Android call, music, and video-call connections
For calls or music, open the phone’s Bluetooth settings and confirm the glasses are connected for both calls and audio. For a poor Android video-call connection, the FAQ suggests turning on Wi-Fi and turning off any VPN or hotspot. It also identifies a Pixel issue on Android 14 during view sharing; the listed workaround is to lock the phone.

Restarting is not the same as factory resetting
Standard restart
Slide the glasses’ power switch off, then back on. Ray-Ban says this does not erase captures or unpair the glasses from the app.
Force restart
If a standard restart does not help, switch the glasses off, press and hold the capture button, and switch them back on while continuing to hold the button. Release it when the status LED turns red. The FAQ says this restart also preserves captures and does not require pairing again.

Factory reset: use only as a last resort
A factory reset erases all captures and removes the glasses’ association with the Meta account. Setup and pairing must be repeated afterward. Confirm that this procedure applies to your exact model before using it:

- Press and hold the capture button until the LED flashes, then release it.
- Wait for the LED to cycle white, then green, and turn off.
A reset may also be requested when transferring glasses to another Meta account.

When to contact support
If the glasses still will not appear during setup or will not stay connected after these steps, Ray-Ban directs users to open a warranty claim through its support route. Because the model name “Nova” has not been matched to the Ray-Ban Meta instructions, seek support for the precise product shown on your packaging or in the companion app if you have a different model.
