Start with network stability: Amazon says Luna needs at least 10 Mbps sustained for 1080p, and a brief high speed-test result does not prove that your connection can maintain it.
Start by identifying what is failing
Notice whether the problem affects the streamed picture, your button response, or both. Poor video quality, buffering, or Amazon’s “Network issues detected” warning point first to the connection. A controller that disconnects while the picture remains stable calls for controller-specific checks. If the problem appears only on one device or browser, check that platform’s settings and Luna compatibility.

Amazon says “Network issues detected” means the internet speed is fluctuating and not consistently reaching the 10 Mbps minimum for 1080p. That threshold is a minimum, not a guarantee of smooth play. A speed test is useful, but one reading cannot show whether the connection stays stable during a session. See Amazon Luna’s network troubleshooting guidance and its minimum requirements.
Test the network before changing devices
Change one thing at a time and test Luna again, so you can tell which adjustment helped.

- Check the connection. Run a speed test near the time and place you play. For 1080p, Amazon specifies at least 10 Mbps sustained; if results vary substantially, stability may be the issue even when one test is fast.
- Try Ethernet if practical. Amazon recommends a wired network. Use a cable or compatible adapter only if your playback device supports it; check its ports and adapter requirements before buying.
- If using Wi-Fi, try 5 GHz first. Amazon’s requirements guidance recommends trying 5 GHz. If performance does not improve, test the other available band as Amazon’s troubleshooting page advises. The best result depends on signal strength, distance, and obstructions; 5 GHz is not automatically better in every room.
- Improve the Wi-Fi signal. Move the playback device nearer the router and retest.
- Reduce competition for bandwidth. Pause or limit other high-bandwidth activities such as video streaming, large downloads, online games, and backups. Close bandwidth-consuming apps on the device running Luna.
- Turn off routing intermediaries for the test. Temporarily disable a VPN or proxy; Amazon notes these can add latency or block gameplay.
- Use Wi-Fi on Apple mobile devices. Amazon advises iPhone and iPad players to use Wi-Fi rather than cellular.
Ethernet, 5 GHz Wi-Fi, and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi are options to test—not guaranteed fixes. Compare them at the playback device’s actual location, where signal quality and household interference matter.
Check the setting for your playback device
Confirm that your device and browser are supported before spending time on platform-specific tweaks. Amazon’s Luna compatibility page lists supported platforms and browser versions; supported combinations can vary, so use the current page rather than relying on an old device list. Access on other devices may not provide the expected quality or features.

- Fire TV: Enable Game Mode on the television connected to the Fire TV. The TV’s own menus and label may vary by manufacturer.
- Chrome on Windows or Mac: Check that hardware acceleration is enabled. In Chrome, open
chrome://settings/?search=hardwareand review the hardware acceleration setting. - Mac or Fire Tablet with a quality problem: Amazon lists temporarily turning off Location Services as a diagnostic step for these platforms. Treat it as a narrow test, not a universal Luna requirement, and turn Location Services back on afterward if you normally use it.
- Any supported platform: Install available operating-system, browser, and Luna app updates.

First identify whether your Luna Controller is connected through Cloud Direct (Wi-Fi) or Bluetooth. The right proximity check depends on the mode.

- Check power: Use the Luna Controller companion app to check the battery level; replace the batteries if needed.
- Cloud Direct (Wi-Fi): Move the controller closer to the Wi-Fi router. A weak wireless signal can cause disconnections.
- Bluetooth: Move the controller closer to the device it is paired with. Reduce obstacles between them and, if possible, move nearby Bluetooth devices that could be interfering.
- Check controller software: Amazon says connecting the controller to Wi-Fi enables automatic software downloads. The companion app can show the controller’s software version.
For setup problems rather than mid-game disconnections, use Amazon’s dedicated Bluetooth pairing help or Luna Controller Wi-Fi troubleshooting. If setup remains unresolved, contact Amazon customer service. Follow the applicable help page rather than trying unverified button sequences or resets. Amazon identifies its Luna Controller as model T28B69 in its safety and compliance information; the controller is optional, and buying one will not fix a stream or network problem.

- The playback device, operating system, and browser or app version.
- Whether the picture, controller response, or both are affected.
- Whether the controller uses Cloud Direct or Bluetooth.
- Whether Ethernet, 5 GHz, or moving closer to the router changes the symptom.
- Whether the issue occurs across games or only in one game.
Then consult the relevant Amazon Luna device or controller help page, or contact Amazon support. A local symptom alone does not establish that Luna has a service-side outage.
