If an ASOS login looks unfamiliar or a message claiming to be from ASOS seems suspicious, don’t click its links or open attachments. Verify the contact using ASOS’s official guidance, change or reset your password through ASOS itself, review your account details, and contact Customer Care about unexplained activity.
How to tell whether a message is really from ASOS
ASOS says it contacts customers through an ASOS-branded email address or a verified social media account. It warns that impersonators may use social media, fake Gmail accounts, WhatsApp, and fake websites. An email’s appearance alone is not proof that it is genuine.

ASOS also advises customers not to click links or open attachments in an email that appears to be from ASOS but lacks its BIMI logo, or whenever they doubt its authenticity. Treat the logo as one clue, not a guarantee. If you are unsure, go to ASOS directly rather than using the message’s link, and contact ASOS Customer Care.
- Do not reply, click links, open attachments, or provide your password or payment details through a suspicious message.
- Check the sender and account against ASOS’s official guidance on identifying ASOS communications.
- If the message is a social-media approach, check that the account is verified; if you still have doubts, use Customer Care reached through the official ASOS site.
Change your password if you can still sign in
- Open the ASOS site or app directly and sign in. Do not use a link in the suspicious message.
- In your account, select Change password.
- Enter your current password and a new one. ASOS specifies a new password of 10 to 100 characters that differs from the previous password.
These steps follow ASOS’s account help instructions. If you entered your password on a page you now suspect was fake, use the official site or app to change it.

Reset your password if you are locked out or cannot remember it
- Go to the ASOS sign-in page directly and select Forgotten password?
- Enter the email address registered to your ASOS account.
- Use the reset link ASOS sends to that email address. If it does not arrive, check your spam or junk folder.
ASOS says three incorrect email or password entries lock an account for 30 minutes. If you have triggered the lock, wait for it to expire before trying again. See ASOS’s password reset guidance for the current instructions.
Review your account and contact Customer Care about unexplained activity
After regaining access, check whether your account email address, delivery address, phone number, or saved payment methods have changed. ASOS’s account guidance explains that signed-in customers can update those details. If you find a change you did not make, or activity you cannot explain, contact Customer Care through the official site. The reviewed ASOS guidance does not describe a dedicated suspicious-login checklist or confirm that customers can revoke active sessions, so do not assume a password change signs out every device.

- FAST & CONVENIENT LOGIN: Plug in your YubiKey 5C NFC via USB and tap it, or tap it against your phone (NFC), to authenticate. No batteries, no internet connection, and no extra fees required
- MOST SECURE PASSKEY: Supports FIDO2/WebAuthn, FIDO U2F, Yubico OTP, OATH-TOTP/HOTP, Smart card (PIV), and OpenPGP. That means it’s versatile, working almost anywhere you need it
- PRIMARY & SPARE KEYS: Just like having a spare house key, we recommend buying two YubiKeys - one for daily use and one as a spare. That way you’ll never get locked out of your accounts
If you reused the exposed password elsewhere, change it on those accounts too—especially your email account. ASOS recommends using a unique password for each account and warns that reuse can put multiple accounts at risk if one password is stolen. A password manager can help you maintain distinct passwords, but ASOS does not endorse a particular provider.

ASOS has published a notice about a specific unauthorized push notification. For that notification, the company told customers to disregard it and not click or engage with its external third-party link. In the notice, ASOS said it was investigating unauthorized activity involving third-party platforms used to communicate with customers.

ASOS’s statements about possible access to basic personal information, and its assessment at the time that payment-card information and account passwords were not believed to be affected, apply to that investigation—not to other suspicious logins or messages. The notice also said customers did not need to change their ASOS password at that time and that ASOS would contact affected customers directly if that changed. Read the specific notification notice for its scope; do not treat it as a general assurance about your account.

The account and security pages cited here do not establish whether ASOS currently offers two-step verification, passkeys, hardware security keys, or a customer control for ending active sessions. They also do not describe a dedicated unauthorized-login response flow. If you need help with a suspicious login, contact Customer Care rather than relying on an unverified setting or assuming a particular security feature is available.
