How do I fix AION 2 crashes?
First note whether the game crashes before launch, after entering the game, or during play. Record any error code, whether you launch through Steam or PURPLE, and when the issue began. This information helps distinguish a documented error from a problem that needs individual support; it is not a publisher-defined diagnostic procedure.

The AION 2 Global Support FAQ lists these Windows PC requirements. NCSOFT does not state that meeting the minimum guarantees compatibility.

Use the documented Steam workaround only for error 1138:100134
NCSOFT’s instruction is specific to Steam error 1138:100134: “If this error occurs, please run Steam as an administrator and then launch the game again.”
- Close the game if it is open.
- Right-click Steam and select Run as administrator.
- Launch AION 2 from Steam again.
If the same error remains, NCSOFT says to contact Customer Service. This procedure is not documented as a fix for other launch errors or crashes occurring after the game starts. The FAQ answer is dated 2026-09-23: AION 2 Global Support FAQ.

For other crash codes or persistent failures
Use NCSOFT Customer Service for a persistent or differently coded error. Include the exact code, launcher (Steam or PURPLE), when the crash happens, and the key details of your PC. The official FAQ cited here does not provide a general crash sequence covering file verification, driver rollback, cache deletion, antivirus exclusions, or clean boot steps, so those should not be presented as confirmed AION 2 fixes.

Compare your hardware with the requirement tiers before treating stutter as a graphics-setting problem. NCSOFT’s FHD starting presets are Very Low at minimum specifications and Low at recommended specifications. These are the publisher’s stated compatibility starting points, not a guarantee of a particular frame rate or a diagnosis of every stutter.

- If you meet the recommended tier, start with FHD Low.
- If stutter continues, note whether it occurs constantly or only in particular situations, along with your hardware and any error message, and contact official support if needed.
The cited official materials do not establish a universal stutter fix or recommend specific driver, cache, or Windows changes for this symptom. Avoid assuming that an SSD will eliminate stuttering: NCSOFT recommends an SSD, but does not promise that it resolves performance problems.

The official requirement is broadband internet; the cited support material does not set a latency target or recommend a particular router, Ethernet cable, gaming VPN, or network optimizer. Before buying equipment or changing services, determine whether the delay is limited to AION 2 or also affects other online activity, whether it is constant or intermittent, which launcher and server region you are using, and whether a VPN is active. These are useful observations to share with support, not causes established by NCSOFT.

NCSOFT reported that its measures included “blocking specific overseas VPN connections” in an announcement dated 2026-01-28. That notice concerns selective blocking; it does not say that all VPNs cause high ping or offer a general latency remedy. Do not use a VPN as a default fix for AION 2 connectivity. When an issue is not covered by the specific Steam error instruction, a concise report can help support understand what you are seeing. Include:
- The exact error code or a description of the symptom.
- Whether it happens before launch, after entering the game, during play, or as delayed actions.
- Your launcher, PC specifications, and the time the problem began.
- For connection problems, whether other online activity is affected, your server region, and whether a VPN is active.
