Windows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallCrashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteThe Razer Wolverine V4 Pro is compatible with Xbox and PC, but the right fix depends on where the connection fails. First identify the platform and whether you are using a cable or the wireless method for your setup; then test one connection path at a time. Start with power, cable, and port checks. If those do not help, use Razer’s current V4 Pro-specific support instructions rather than steps intended for another Wolverine model.
Razer confirms Xbox and PC compatibility on its Wolverine V4 Pro product page, but that page does not provide a detailed connection-recovery procedure.

First identify what “not connecting” means
Before changing settings, note the platform, connection method, and symptom. A controller that will not power on needs a different first check from one that powers on but is not detected by Windows or Xbox.
- Platform: Xbox or PC. On PC, record the Windows version.
- Connection path: USB cable or the wireless method you are actually using. Do not assume Bluetooth or a particular receiver setup.
- Symptom: no lights or power, host does not detect it, connection drops intermittently, or the controller is detected but does not work in a game.
- Other setup: whether the included cable or receiver is involved, and whether the same problem happens on another compatible host.
Change one variable at a time and retest. That makes it easier to tell whether the issue follows the controller, a cable or receiver, or one host.

Check power, cable, and USB port
- Make sure the controller has power. Charge or power it using its intended cable. Check that the cable is firmly seated at both ends and look for visible damage.
- Test a direct USB port. Disconnect the controller, then connect it directly to another USB port on the host rather than changing several parts of the setup at once.
- Try a known-good data-capable cable if available. A cable that can charge a device may not carry USB data, so charging alone does not show that the cable can support a wired connection.
- Restart the host. Fully restart the Xbox or PC, reconnect the controller, and check whether the host detects it.
These are low-risk isolation checks, not a Razer-published V4 Pro recovery sequence.
Test wired and wireless separately
If your setup supports both wired and wireless use, test each path on its own. Disconnect the controller before switching methods so the result is clear.

- Wired works, wireless does not: the controller can communicate over the tested cable and port. Check the wireless instructions for the V4 Pro in Razer’s current support materials, and confirm any included receiver used by your setup is present and connected. Do not try an unverified button combination or pairing sequence.
- Wireless works, wired does not: concentrate on the USB cable, the host port, and the wired setup. If possible, repeat the test with a known-good data cable and another direct port.
- Neither path works: if possible, test on another compatible Xbox or PC. If the failure follows the controller across hosts, that points toward the controller or an accessory in the tested path; if it occurs on only one host, investigate that host’s ports or configuration. These patterns help narrow the possibilities but do not establish a definitive cause.
PC checks: confirm the connection method first
On a PC, check whether Windows detects the controller or receiver in its device listings, and note what appears when you connect or disconnect it. Install current Windows updates and relevant host-device drivers through their official channels.

Use Microsoft’s Windows Bluetooth troubleshooting guide only if Bluetooth is actually the connection method in your setup. Microsoft’s general checks include confirming Bluetooth is available and enabled, checking the device’s power and range, restarting it, running the Bluetooth troubleshooter, and updating the Bluetooth adapter driver. If you are using a cable or receiver instead, Bluetooth troubleshooting does not address that connection path.

Use only V4 Pro-specific reset or firmware instructions
Check Razer’s current Wolverine V4 Pro product and support information, or contact Razer, for a reset, pairing, or firmware procedure that explicitly names the V4 Pro. The reviewed Razer product page confirms compatibility but does not provide those recovery steps.
Do not run the Wolverine V3 Pro firmware updater as a fix for a V4 Pro. It is identified for the V3 Pro, model RZ06-0520, and is not verified for the V4 Pro. Stop before any firmware recovery if the updater does not explicitly identify your model.

When to contact Razer or the seller
Contact Razer support or the seller about warranty or return options if the controller has physical damage, is not detected across multiple hosts, or still fails after the safe power, cable, port, and host checks. The checks above cannot determine whether an unresolved problem is caused by hardware, firmware, pairing, or host configuration, and a warranty outcome depends on the applicable terms.
