If your Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro won’t connect or charge, first check the exact model number and use a direct USB connection: the mouse pairs wirelessly over its compatible 2.4 GHz dongle and charges through USB-C. It does not support wireless charging. The Smooth Touch model, RZ01-046303, uses a different dongle pairing rule from the non-Smooth-Touch RZ01-046301/2, so choosing the correct dongle is an important first step.

Start by identifying your DeathAdder V3 Pro variant

Check the model number on the mouse or its packaging before updating firmware or pairing it again. Razer distinguishes the Smooth Touch RZ01-046303 from the non-Smooth-Touch RZ01-046301/2 models. The Smooth Touch version does not work with the HyperSpeed dongle; according to Razer, it pairs only with the HyperPolling dongle supplied with that mouse. See Razer’s DeathAdder V3 Pro FAQ for its variant-specific information.

The mouse supports wireless use through its compatible 2.4 GHz dongle and wired use through USB-C. It charges by cable, not wirelessly.

Fix wireless connection and pairing problems

  1. Check charge and wireless mode. Charge the mouse, then make sure its wireless mode is on and correctly selected.
  2. Connect the dongle directly to the computer. For initial troubleshooting, plug it into a PC USB port rather than an intervening hub, and position it with a clear line of sight to the mouse.
  3. Confirm dongle compatibility. For model RZ01-046303, use the supplied HyperPolling dongle; the HyperSpeed dongle is not compatible. For other variants, use the dongle intended for that mouse.
  4. Update firmware only if your model is supported. Razer’s firmware updater page lists version 2.02.00_r2, dated May 30, 2025, for non-Smooth-Touch models RZ01-046301/2. Its release notes cite a fix for wireless reconnection issues under specific conditions. Razer’s instructions update the dongle first, then the mouse connected with the supplied USB cable. Do not disconnect or interrupt the update. Check the model and current download details on Razer’s firmware updater page before proceeding; this updater is not listed for RZ01-046303.
  5. Run the Razer Mouse Pairing Utility. Use Razer’s Mouse Pairing Utility instructions to pair the mouse and dongle.
  6. Reinstall the mouse drivers and test another PC. If pairing still fails, reinstall the mouse drivers, then check whether the mouse connects on a different computer.

If the dongle itself may need a driver utility, Razer’s support search result lists USB HyperSpeed Dongle Utility v1.00.16_r1 dated January 8, 2026. Downloads and version availability can change, so confirm the current listing and model compatibility on Razer Support before installing anything.

Fix charging problems

  1. Reseat the USB-C cable. Confirm that it is fully inserted into the mouse and the computer or power source. The mouse has no wireless charging capability.
  2. Try a direct USB port. Connect the cable to a PC port rather than a hub. In one red-blinking troubleshooting response, Razer Support specifically recommended a motherboard port instead of a hub, monitor port, or front-panel port.
  3. Inspect the USB-C port. Check for debris that could prevent a solid connection. Do not force objects into the port.
  4. Try another cable. If the supplied cable appears faulty, test with another suitable USB-C cable. A replacement cable may help if the original is damaged, but third-party models have not been verified as officially approved.

If the mouse blinks red while plugged in

In a Razer Insider response on January 28, 2026, a Razer Support representative said that, in the reported case, red blinking while plugged in meant the battery was below 5% and was not receiving sufficient charge. The response recommended holding the power/DPI button for 5–10 seconds; a white blink indicates a reboot. Reconnect the cable after the reboot, and check the USB-C port and cable. This is guidance for the reported case, not a guaranteed diagnosis for every mouse. Read the Razer Support response.

When to contact Razer Support

If the mouse still will not charge or connect after these checks, note its model number and serial number and contact Razer Support for device-specific troubleshooting and warranty guidance. Razer directs unresolved dongle issues to Support for warranty validation; warranty terms depend on the applicable region and are not established here.
