How to Find Upcoming Corporate Actions on NSE and BSE

Use the exchanges’ own corporate-action tables, then verify every date in the issuer’s notice before you buy. On NSE, start with Corporate Filings → Corporate Actions; search by company or symbol and action purpose. If the row has no final ex-date, search Corporate Filings → Announcements and open the attached notice. Cross-check the issuer’s investor-relations archive and, for BSE-listed securities or a second confirmation, check BSE’s corporate-actions page. Exchange rows are live and can change, so refresh them immediately before trading.

Where upcoming corporate actions are published

A corporate action is an issuer event that changes a shareholder’s cash entitlement, number of shares, face value or participation rights. Dividends, bonus issues, stock splits and rights issues are common examples; AGM notices and other issuer events also appear in exchange filing systems.

The exchange table is the best starting point because it standardizes the security symbol, purpose and key dates. The issuer’s announcement and attachment remain essential when the action involves a ratio, issue price, entitlement calculation or payment mechanics that a summary row cannot show.

NSE Corporate Actions table

Open NSE’s Corporate Filings → Corporate Actions page. The table exposes the security symbol, action purpose and ex-date, and the same Corporate Filings area also provides Corporate Announcements and Board Meetings. Use the search or filter controls to narrow the list by company, symbol or purpose such as dividend, bonus, rights or split.

Issuer-specific NSE filing

For one company, open its Corporate Filings—Corporate Actions page. The issuer view can show purpose, face value, ex-date, record date and book-closure dates together, making it easier to reconstruct the timetable than scanning a market-wide list.

NSE announcements and attachments

An action may be announced before a final ex-date is assigned. In that case, open Corporate Filings → Announcements, search by company or symbol, subject and date range, and open the announcement and its attachment. The interface also supports CSV download, which is useful for maintaining a watchlist or checking several issuers consistently.

Issuer investor-relations archive

Cross-check the issuer’s notice in NSE’s investor-relations corporate-actions archive. The archive lists the purpose, announcement date, record date and attachments. The archive page displayed an update date of 3 September 2026; treat that as the page’s stated update date, not as a guarantee that every individual action is still unchanged.

BSE corporate-actions information

Check BSE’s corporate-actions information when the security is BSE-listed or when you want an independent exchange-side confirmation. Compare the symbol, purpose and dates against the issuer notice. If NSE and BSE display different dates, do not guess which one applies: open the latest exchange filing and issuer attachment and resolve the discrepancy before acting.

How to search and save an action on NSE

  1. Open the Corporate Actions table. Start with the market-wide list rather than a news headline or social-media calendar.
  2. Search the exact symbol. Use the listed symbol shown on your trading screen. Check the company name as well, because symbols can be similar.
  3. Filter by purpose. Select dividend, bonus, rights, split, AGM or another available purpose so unrelated filings do not obscure the relevant row.
  4. Read the complete row. Record the purpose, face value where shown, ex-date, record date and any book-closure dates. Note whether the row identifies an interim or final dividend.
  5. Open the linked filing. Read the announcement and download the attachment if a ratio, entitlement, issue price, payment date or allotment condition matters.
  6. Record the access time. Add the date and time you checked the page to your notes. Live rows may be revised after you save them.

For repeated monitoring, download the announcement results as CSV and keep the original attachment alongside your notes. A spreadsheet should preserve the symbol, purpose, announcement date, ex-date, record date, source page and last-checked timestamp; it should not replace the exchange notice.

What each date means

Eligibility depends on the final dates, not on when a board first discusses or announces an action. Read dates in sequence and keep the issuer’s attachment with your records.

Announcement date

This is when the company communicates the proposal or decision to the exchange. It tells you when information became public, but it does not by itself establish eligibility or the trading date.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Cum-dividend date

NSE defines the cum-dividend date as the last date to buy shares in order to be eligible to receive the dividend. Buying on that date is the final purchase opportunity identified by the exchange definition; confirm the applicable timetable in the current notice.

Ex-dividend date

NSE defines the ex-dividend date as the day on which the equity share price is adjusted for the dividend payout. Exchanges determine and notify this date. An ex-date is therefore a market-pricing milestone, not a substitute for reading the record-date notice.

Record date

The record date is the issuer’s eligibility snapshot date. The company and exchange use it to identify holders entitled to the dividend, bonus, rights entitlement or other benefit. Confirm the record date in both the corporate-action row and the issuer’s notice.

Book-closure dates

Some issuer notices show a book-closure period during which the register is closed for the stated action. Treat those dates as part of the issuer’s timetable and do not infer them from an ex-date alone.

Payment or allotment date

This is when cash is paid or bonus/split shares are credited, subject to the issuer’s stated process. The payment or allotment date and any conditions should come from the issuer’s attachment, which is the authoritative source for the detailed mechanics.

BSE’s explainer uses the same practical distinction: the cum-dividend date is the last purchase date for eligibility, while the ex-date and record-date process is when the share price reflects the distribution. Do not assume that a dividend date and a split date have the same consequence for your holdings.

Compare actions by purpose and consequence

Action purpose What to inspect What changes for a holder Primary document to verify
Dividend Dividend type and amount, ex-date, record date, payment date Cash entitlement for holders who satisfy the final eligibility timetable; the price is adjusted on the ex-date Corporate-action row plus issuer announcement and payment notice
Bonus issue Bonus ratio, record date, ex-date and allotment or credit date Additional shares may be credited according to the announced ratio; the attachment explains treatment of fractions and eligibility Issuer attachment stating the ratio and allotment mechanics
Rights issue Record date, entitlement ratio, issue price, rights period and payment instructions Eligible holders receive a right or entitlement subject to the stated subscription process; an announcement alone does not mean shares are automatically issued Offer or rights document attached to the exchange filing
Face-value split Old and new face value, ex-date, record date and credit timing The number and face value of shares are adjusted according to the announced split; the attachment explains the ratio and handling of fractional entitlements Issuer notice and corporate-action attachment
AGM or other action Meeting date, record or book-closure dates and stated purpose Participation or information rights may apply, but no cash or share entitlement should be assumed without a specific action notice Meeting notice and exchange announcement

Two rows can both display an ex-date while producing completely different outcomes. A dividend concerns cash eligibility and price adjustment; a split changes the share count and face value. Compare the purpose and attachment before interpreting any date.

How to verify an action before buying

  1. Start with the live exchange row. Search the symbol on NSE or BSE and note the purpose and displayed ex-date.
  2. Confirm the issuer. Match the company name, security symbol and face value with the issuer’s own filing. Similar symbols or multiple securities can lead to the wrong row.
  3. Find the record date. If it is missing from the summary, open the issuer-specific page or announcement. Do not infer eligibility from the announcement date.
  4. Read the attachment. Check dividend amount, bonus or split ratio, rights issue price and entitlement, payment or allotment date, and any conditions.
  5. Check the other exchange when relevant. For a BSE-listed security, use BSE’s corporate-actions information; for a dual-listed security, compare both exchange entries and the issuer notice.
  6. Check notice timing. Regulation 42 guidance requires advance notice of the record date. Verify that the displayed timetable is the latest filing rather than an earlier proposal.
  7. Refresh immediately before trading. Reopen the exchange page and attachment close to your order time. If a date or ratio changed, use the latest notice and discard stale calendar entries.

“The listed entity shall give notice in advance of atleast three working days (excluding the date of intimation and the record date) to stock exchange(s) of record date specifying the purpose of the record date.”

This minimum is at least three working days for dividend, bonus and rights record dates under the cited guidance. The same guidance says schemes of arrangement require at least seven working days’ notice. These are notice requirements, not a guarantee that an action cannot later be revised or withdrawn.

Live NSE illustration: how to read the rows

A live NSE result captured on 19 October 2026 showed the following examples:

Symbol Purpose shown Ex-date shown How to use the example
ICICIAMC Interim dividend 21 October 2026 Open the issuer notice to confirm the dividend details, record date and payment timetable.
MRPL Interim dividend 21 October 2026 Verify the final row and attachment again before trading; this is not a forecast.
ELECON Interim dividend 21 October 2026 Use the purpose and ex-date as a search result, then confirm eligibility in the record-date notice.
JSWDULUX Face-value split 22 October 2026 Read the old/new face values and credit mechanics; do not treat it like a dividend.
AZADIND Face-value split 23 October 2026 Check the split ratio and record date in the issuer attachment before relying on the date.

Common mistakes and how to correct them

Treating a board meeting as a completed action

A board-meeting entry may signal that directors will consider a dividend, bonus or split. It is not proof that the action was approved, nor does it establish an ex-date or record date. Move from the Board Meetings page to the completed announcement and corporate-action row before making an eligibility decision.

Using the announcement date as the purchase deadline

The announcement date only marks disclosure. Use the final cum-dividend or ex-date and record date shown in the current exchange and issuer notices.

Relying on a calendar copied days earlier

Corporate-action tables are live. A copied spreadsheet, broker calendar or screenshot can retain a superseded date. Refresh the exchange page and reopen the attachment immediately before acting.

Ignoring the attachment

Summary rows may omit the ratio, issue price, entitlement conditions, payment method or allotment date. Download and retain the issuer attachment whenever those details affect your decision.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Confusing a split with a bonus

Both can alter the number of shares shown in an account, but they are different actions with different face-value and entitlement mechanics. Read the stated purpose and ratio instead of inferring the result from the ex-date.

Assuming a rights entitlement is automatic stock delivery

A rights issue normally requires the eligible holder to follow the subscription instructions in the offer document. Confirm the rights period, price, ratio and payment process before deciding whether to participate.

Leaving an unexplained date conflict unresolved

If NSE, BSE and the issuer show different dates, identify the latest filing and whether one entry is an old announcement. Until the conflict is resolved from the current notice, treat the action as unverified.

A practical monitoring checklist

  • Use the exact listed symbol and company name.
  • Identify the purpose before interpreting any date.
  • Capture announcement date, ex-date, record date and payment or allotment date separately.
  • Save the issuer attachment when a ratio, amount, issue price or condition matters.
  • Check BSE as a second exchange-side source when appropriate.
  • Record when you last checked the page.
  • Refresh close to publication and immediately before trading.
  • Ignore board-meeting headlines until a completed corporate-action notice appears.

What counts as a reliable confirmation

The strongest confirmation is a consistent chain: a current NSE or BSE corporate-action row, a matching issuer announcement with its attachment, and a final ex-date and record date. If any link is missing, the action may still be pending, incomplete or revised. Use the latest exchange filing and issuer document rather than an undated third-party list.
