Use the festival programme for the annual event cluster
The Leeds Digital Festival programme brings together events across a broad range of subjects, including AI and machine learning, software development, cybersecurity, data, fintech, careers and education, and social networking. The 2026 edition ran from 21 September to 2 October. Those dates have passed as of 4 October 2026; use the programme to understand the festival’s range, and check the current listings for future events.

Start with the event’s purpose: a technical talk or workshop may help you learn, while a social or networking event is more directly geared toward meeting people. Then verify the practical details on the individual listing.

- 7.25" w x 10" h; 200 pages
- 5 tabbed sections
- Guided pages
- Gold foil sticker sheet
- Produced responsibly with FSC-certified paper
- Topic: Use the programme’s subject filters to find areas such as data, cybersecurity or software development.
- Format: Check whether the event is physical, virtual or private. A private listing may not be open to general registration.
- Date, time and venue: Confirm these on the listing before making plans, especially for in-person events.
- Audience: Look for the roles or experience levels the organiser names. An event for digital professionals may suit someone changing careers differently from one aimed at specialist practitioners.
- Booking: Read the event page for availability, ticket terms and its booking link; these vary by organiser.
Finding networking opportunities
On the festival programme, look for events tagged Social & Networking, then read the audience description rather than relying on the tag alone. A useful example from the 2026 programme was Bytes and Brews, a physical breakfast organised by Leeds Beckett University at its city campus on 22 September. Its listing invited people working in technology or digital roles—including cybersecurity, software development, data and analytics, and IT—and asked: “Work in tech or digital? New to Leeds? Looking to grow your network?” That event has passed; it illustrates the kind of audience-specific listing to look for, not a current recommendation.
If you are new to Leeds, an event with a named audience and a social format can make it easier to judge whether you will meet relevant people. You do not need to wait for the festival: check Leeds Digital’s year-round listings for upcoming opportunities.

- Compare the date, time, venue and intended audience on each event page.

Want to organise an event or speak?
Leeds Digital Festival is an open platform: organisers host their own events and arrange their own speakers, while Leeds Digital provides a place in the programme. The official page says anyone can submit a relevant tech event in Leeds. The 2026 submission window, 8 June to 24 July, is closed. Leeds Digital recommends joining its mailing list for information about the 2027 submission period; check the official festival page for updates.
How large is the festival?
Leeds Digital’s 2026 sponsorship materials report 220+ events and an estimated 40,000 attendees. These are organiser-reported figures, and the attendance figure is an estimate; the materials do not present them as independently audited counts.
The same materials quote Anja Madhvani, Event & Community Lead at Genio, describing the programme as spanning “really niche and technical” subjects as well as workplace culture and diversity in tech, and highlighting its value for discovering talent and making connections with other tech firms in the north.
